    Chelsea Football Club (also known as The Blues and The Pensioners) are a professional football club based in Fulham, London. Chelsea were founded on 10 March 1905 at The Rising Sun pub (now The Butcher's Hook) after Gus Mears had previously acquired the Stamford Bridge athletics stadium with the aim of turning it into a football ground. Since there was already a team named Fulham in the borough, the name of the adjacent borough, the Metropolitan Borough of Chelsea, was settled on. Chelsea's first major title success came in the form of the League Cup with the appointment of former Arsenal player, Ted Drake, who also led Chelsea to the their first ever League title, enabling them to compete in the European Cup, but after objections from The Football League and the FA, Chelsea were persuaded to withdraw from the competition before it started - allowing Matt Busby's Manchester United to start their illustrious adventure with the competition.

    After decades of being non-competitors, Chelsea returned to the domestic title fore in 2003 under new owner Roman Abramovich, who fueled an unprecedented spending spree - starting in the mid 2000s. Since the takeover, Chelsea have won 2 Champions League titles, 5 Premier League titles, 5 FA Cup titles, 2 Europa League titles and 3 League Cup titles. On 10 March 2022, the British government announced sanctions on Abramovich with Chelsea allowed to operate under a special license until 31 May. Subsequently, Chelsea confirmed that terms had been agreed for a new ownership group, led by Todd Boehly, Clearlake Capital, Mark Walter and Hansjörg Wyss, to acquire the club. On 30 May 2022, the sale was completed, ending Abramovich's 19 year ownership of the club. Chelsea's most prominent rivalries include local clubs Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, title rivals Manchester United, Liverpool and Leeds United. Chelsea play their home games at Stamford Bridge — which had been their home for over a century.

    I'm significantly more optimistic about this one than I was last week.
     
    A week ago I would have said we had no chance here but events that have occurred over the past week have made me feel we can snatch a win 2-1.

    Chris Sutton has predicted a 1-1 draw which is strange as he normally predicts us to lose.
     
    Fancy we might lose this. They have a bit about them (although the results aren’t flowing the way people are making out) and they are massively due a win at OT. Can see a sort of plucky performance from us but the transitional arrangement will be obvious and we get turned over. Definitely not in the same way we did by Spurs or Pool though.

    This'll be infinitely more complicated than Leicester but I expect some of the particles from the Interim Manager Bounce to still be lingering in the air, so maybe we'll get something out of it.

    A draw seems reasonable.

    OT is going to be rocking. Lucky whoever has tickets! The players are going to be playing on adrenaline and if we score early, the crest of a wave will make this a very fun and exciting game.

    There's a lot more chance of us winning this now than there was a week ago.

    It's been a long time since I've been eager to watch us play; just wish I was there for the game!

    Can't see that happening myself. He'll leave that to Amorim to sort and try not to rock the boat too much himself. Remember that a big criticism of Ten Hag was 'paralysis by analysis' so he'll take on Chelsea mostly with vibes and consistency. And that might just well work for us with the malaise lifted and a bit of momentum off the back of the midweek win. I'm expecting a similar lineup.
     
    This has a high score draw written all over it, 2-2.

    I think Ruud will start with Rashford Hojlund Garnacho up front.

    I think he'll stick with the midfield 3 of Casemiro Ugarte Bruno, with Eriksen coming on as a sub.

    I know they’re all young up and coming players, but that front 3 is shocking on paper for a team our size. We really need a top, top forward, ideally a goalscoring winger.

    Every season it doesn't matter how good a form we're in, or how bad Utd are, we always lose. Last season at OT was the worst performance I've seen from us since Conte away at City where all the players were walking around the pitch.

    Until we actually do it, I'll always be pessimistic regarding this fixture
     
    Huge game, win this and Leicester next week and Amorim will be joining in a very nice position. No massive expectation, but teams above not performing as consistently as previous years. I really hope we can get the 3 points tomorrow no matter how ugly. would keep us right in touch in advance of the new regime coming

    I feel we owe them one after that catastrophe at stamford bridge. our terrible defending aside I still dont think either of those were penalties. Gillett is basically the second coming of michael oliver.
     
    Leicester win was nice but I'm not confident in our team. Went for 3-1 Chelsea as I feel things may play in their favor at Old Trafford after a long time. Would be happy with a draw.

    Have an ongoing bet with my best friend who's an arsenal fan for who finishes highest in the table each season. Loser has to buy the winner a new jersey. I'm tired of having to do that. Still a looooooooong way to go but I'd love to at least be in contention to finish higher than them...and of course into the top 4 and all of that...
     
    Chelsea have been flying high this season, relatively that is, and I'm hoping United bring them back down to Earth. A Ruud awakening.

    Would like to see Diallo and Hojlund start.
