Let's hope we play attacking football and win this game. History against Chelsea and current form are against us though. Hopefully the players will show they are ready to fight for every inch on the field.

The biggest question mark in this game will be over who plays the Lingard/Mkhitaryan role. Will it be Sanchez or Pogba? Mata's been doing it recently, but it's not his natural game. And if neither plays it, are we setting up to sit deep and concede 70% of the possesion? I think the likelihood is that we are.

If Martial plays like a god on the right wing, will it be Jose's masterclass tactic?

His other role is to pull Alonso from overlapping too much.

Wouldn't it just be smarter to put Sanchez there?

Who gives a shit if Martial is on the right? Sanchez is better on the left anyway.

There are a lot of moaners before we even kick a ball - and if you start Pogba Sanchez and Martial you'll get one of them in a secondary position. Big feck, Martial should be able to operate fine on the right because he sure as hell isn't getting ahead of Sanchez on the left.

I think pray we'll win this one comfortably with attacking prowess not seen in years.

Chelsea don't play a possession based game, a midfield of Leicester 2015/16 is there to win the ball and move it forward as quickly as possible. United will take the majority of the ball.

Can anyone explains why young and smalling haven't been dropped. Apart from that a very positive line up.

Surprised to see Lindeloef and Smalling start.
I'm more surprised by the fact that people still can't spell Lindelöf, or at least the anglicized variant, Lindelof.

I'd like to see Sanchez play in a false 9 role, his work rate will help when we don't have the ball and with pressing high. Lukaku can be our centre right outlet.

We have to go out and fecking win this today. Decent team. Only Lindelof is a concern while obviously I'd prefer Martial and Sanchez to swap. Probably too much to ask.

Sanchez has proven he can play equally adequate at every attacking position. Why hamper the team balance and comfort in terms of positional sense by playing Martial on the right?

[Consciously cynic mode on] Hazard will run riot inside the Bermuda triangle of Valencia, Smalling and McTominay. The youngster will lose him several times and perhaps be expelled. Mourinho has a get out of jail card of the rest of his United spell for not playing youngsters. [standby mode]

Sanchez has proven he can play equally adequate at every attacking position. Why hamper the team balance and comfort in terms of positional sense by playing Martial on the right?

Because he prefers playing on the left and in my (and seemingly the manager's) opinion he is more potent from the left.

Im not saying he's certain to start on the left, but if he does why make a big issue out of it? Martial has barely clocked up enough consecutive minutes on the RW to rule him out of a prudent role there anyway. He may well begin to grow into the role and make it his own for all we know.

Not that surprising, even I got that right (although with Bailly). It was a choice between 3 at the back or a midfield three.

It is surprising, considering Jose hasnt gone with a back four against a team that play with a back three. Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea, Swansea, Moscow, etc.

Other than him operating better/preferring to play at the left, Sanchez on paper can handle Moses better in this game, while imo Martial can battle evenly with Alonso, rather than otherwise - Sanchez vs Alonso.

Sanchez has played an awful lot of his career on the right. Barca, Udinese (arguably his best form) and some at Arsenal too.
Whilst Martial largely struggles on the right. Martial could handle Moses, Sanchez would cause Alonso a massive problem.

Of it could work the other way round too, but the player with the least experience of performing at RW is Martial.

Why is everyone, well, a lot of people, saying we gonnalose or draw? Chelsea favorites? Since when? Last game against Barca? Now they are best in the world! Remember last year game, same thing and we won 2-0, and they were first. Btw, Barca was not good that day. What I saw anyway.
We win this, don't care how, we win. Period.

Not for us sadly, or not yet at least.

He should be doing better than one assist and a single goal from a missed penalty. You know our last few results would probably have been if he had scored more goals, right?

Since we've only won 1 of the last 15 games against Chelsea (Chelsea have won 7, drawn 7 or something like that).

A must win game hopefully we'll attack instead of parking the bus.

Young at leftback, Lindelof vs. Morata and Martial potentially playing on the right are all valid concerns IMO but I'll wait until the game starts to make any judgements.
