Awful game, awful performance. But we are in a final so that's all that matters. What is clear though, this competition is so our level right now.

car crash t.v. but as they say when I top a five iron into the hole, no pictures on a score card.we're in the Final, although I feel we might have to play a tad better than that to win the thing

We didn't deserve final at all. No ambition, no quality. Only reason Celta are not in final is they are even worse than us at finishing, but at least they tried to play. That being said they had no choice but to play. Whereas we are still playing conservatively even though the league is lost

Is cowardly too harsh? Fear of failure certainly over everything anyhow. If there's such a thing as a depressing semi-final win, that's it.
I've always dreamed of over-reacting in the match day thread and now here I am. It's all I hoped it would be.

This whole season is one big clusterfeck of depression. I cant believe how fecking bad we are :nervous:

I loved it, this is what football is about. the tension, the high stakes

What? Having our best defender basically go out of his way to suspend himself for the biggest game of our season, us practically refusing to attack with more than three players at one go?

There is no way that should ever have ended like that. Our goalscoring in this competition has severely dried up, and that's going to be an issue against Ajax.

Hope Rashford went up to Guidetti after he missed that and told him hat Manchester is Red

    And your final is?
Oh, I wasn't poking fun. Sorry if it was misunderstood. I've had a warning off a moderator for my post as well so I apologise again if it's been misconstrued.

I have fond memories of the Europa League from when we were in it and considering what it's done for teams like Chelsea and Sevilla in recent years it's clearly a great tournament to win. I've just been joking with a United fan I know this week that it would only be right for a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford to get you to the final. That's all. :)

I said earlier in this thread that I hoped you'd do well tonight and make the final, I stand by that.

All down to Mourinho not having the guts to allow this team to attack. We played like a bunch of cowards the last 30 mins as if we were facing Barca at Camp Nou.

I really, really doubt it's a Mourinho problem. Maybe it is.

But tonight got me thinking a lot about this team. It looks like on a player quality level, we are just not good enough. We have decent players, good players but very few excellent or world class players.

They can't hold the ball well, they can't pass, they can't dribble, they struggle to control games.

I think Jose has dragged this team along.

We were terrible but I'll take it just for the fact that scumbag team haven't gone through. This is why I don't watch el classico and hardly watch Spanish football, all the cheating, diving, histrionics and trying to get other opposition players booked or sent off. Guidetti got what he deserved after he got Bailly sent off the bertie scum.

All down to Mourinho? Sure, he has his share of faults but I can't wrap some things round my head. Is it the fault of the manager when players can't retain the ball, can't keep possession for the shortest possible time, can't pass well, can't dribble, etc?

Maybe it's time to face reality: many of our players are just not good enough.

Invited needless pressure in the end, and a moment of madness by Bailly . The Spanish side were provoking him and he reacted . Celta reverted to hoof ball and we dropped deep . Should have been comfortable all night but needless ball losses running into a train wreck by mkh was really bad in second half.

There's provoking someone and there's shouting racist abuse at a player. The first is somewhat allowed but shouldn't be, the second should ensure the player is never allowed to play professionally again.

Jose knows there limitations of this team. Celta should have been a lot better in the first game, but weren't. They had to give it a go tonight as did Lyon, both teams fell short. I am looking forward to the summer and to see what he can do to improve this side.

Come on mate. I'll offer you van gaal/moyes instead of mourinho. We are much better now than we have been in the last 3 years. We're in a European final and got a chance of winning another major trophy.
