I wouldn't chuck Smalling back in as he was beyond terrible against Chelsea.

I would go with Rojo/Blind and then Bailly back in with Blind when he returns to fitness.

I'd keep the same defence, looked good to me and god knows how the defensive situation is going to improve if we keep swapping players. Players like Smalling need to realise that his performance against Chelsea is not acceptable and deserves a spell on the bench.

I've got a feeling that Mkitharyan might start too, based on nothing.

Rest IBRA and Pogba. They really really need it. Front three of rash, martial and Mkhi supported by mata in the hole, Carrick and Herrera.

Rest Zlatan give Rashford or Martial a go up front.

I'm assuming this won't be televised in Norway as it's 4 pm kick-off. Hopefully it'll be worth a watch later in the evening.

Also can't see Carrick starting again on Sarurday but hope for Martial coming back.

It's live on Viasat in Sweden. I think it's the same schedule isn't it?

    I hope we see this:

    --------------DDG----------------
    Valencia-Smalling-Blind-Shaw
    --------------Ander-------------
    Mikhi---Mata------Pogba---Martial
    -------------Zlatan--------------

I reckon we will win this one, we just need to take our chances.

    -------------DDG---------------
    Valencia-Smalling-Blind-Shaw
    -------Fellaini----Ander--------
    Lingard-----Pogba-----Martial
    -------------Zlatan-------------

To me, Rojo has staked his claim, but I feel Mourinho would put Smalling back in the starting lineup.

Mourinho took a gamble against his own words saying no one could feature the same team again midweek, and now against Burnley will have plenty of aged players and some not so physically robust, who have been saved till now, asked to play again. People putting a 35 year old as starting are forgetting how long his body will take to recover this kind of effort.

You keep saying this, I think it's bs. There are plenty of elites that can play their sport week in week out at 35.

I know the players are athletes and should be fine playing twice a week but it really should be taken into account how many games they have played recently!

Chelsea were far fresher for this reason! I'd consider giving Zlatan a rest and letting Rashford play up top.

I think I'm right in saying this is the first game we've had this season not televised in the UK. Must be the longest run of UK televised games we've ever had.

Big game this we need to start putting points on the board, I really hope we can put 3-4 goals past Burnley and to raise the confidence in the squad. Ideally would be nice to see Ibra get a goal too.

    I know this won't happen but I would love to see;

    GK - DDG
    RB - Valencia
    LB - Shaw
    CB - Rojo
    CB - Blind
    CM - Herrera
    CM - Pogba
    CM - TFM
    AMR - Depay
    AML - Martial
    ST - Rashford

Full of pace, power, energy and attacking intent

This formation could quite fluidly allow the full backs to push right on and TFM to drop in and make a back 3 when we have controlled possession.

Would be quite happy to see Smalling go after Chelsea. Never thought he had the right mentality, has "bottlers eyes" imo. Making a mistake is one thing, the way Kante beat him for the 4th goal is absolutely unforgivable

This will be a tough game, the players have been playing solid for the last two weeks, with barely any recovery time in-between, get the win, be solid if its boring fair play I don't care we just need the result now.

Play Mata, any returning players and go at it get two goals and shut the game down classic Jose style, from then we should be ok.

Does anyone know who our rivals are playing?

Any irish here that will know if Setanta sports will be showing this 3pm game live?

Sky have the Saturday 3pm EPL rights in Ireland now. Match is being shown live on Sky Sports 5 (IRE). Normally Niall Quinn doing the pre match build up so no need to tune in early.

Just put an attacking lineup out and get after them early and put the game away. Not sure that I'd watch if I see Fellaini, Young, Lingard, Mata, Pogba, Ibra making up our attack again while Martial and Miki maybe/maybe not make the bench.

Yeah, sure, but what I'm saying is they're asked to play midweek also.

From a Giggs interview: “I still enjoy everything about playing, but what’s changed most over the years is the time it takes for me to recover after a game. Instead of having a day’s light training after a match I might have two recovery days now. And playing Saturday-Wednesday-Saturday just doesn’t tend to happen anymore.”

    3-0

That is all. Narrowly beating City's reserves shouldn't give me a confidence boost really, but meh, I can't predict us losing to these guys (that said I wouldn't have done with Watford either, and we were actually in decent form then).

    Please, please, please:
    Dave
    Toni --- Smalling/TMF --- Blind --- Shaw
    Herrera
    Mata ------- Pogba
    Miki ----------------- Martial
    Rashford

Not holding my breath on much of that, Rashford will probably get pushed out wide, Miki is still MIA and I don't even know if anyone knows what's going on with Martial. Wouldn't mind seeing Lingard in there, but I think he just isn't creative enough without someone to help out along side him.

Is it definitely on SS5(IRE) ? I can`t find listings for it anywhere .

Torn between resting Zlatan and 'he could get a goal in this game which he really needs'.

I wouldn't take him to Turkey.

We ought to be serving these their arses but a scrappy 1-0 will be sufficient, we need the points.

My main concern is that I'm at work and the three games this season when we've lost....I've been at work.:nervous:.

Would be nice to hammer them after seeing off city. Just put a few good results between us and Stamford bridge.

Ughh, this fixture means more inadvertent exposure to Sean Dyche's perpetual sore throat of a voice. Let's help relegate this guy.

Why are so my people including Carrick and Zlatan? Surely they need a rest at their age with only a 2 day break?
Assuming they are rested, I'd like to see:

    DDG
    Val Mike Rojo Shaw
    Blind
    Herrera.......Pogba
    Mata
    Martial Rash

Thanks pal. Guess it's a crappy stream for the first time this season

Mhiki - Mata - Martial please!

My team for this: De Gea; Rojo, Blind, Valencia, Shaw; Ander Herrera, Pogba, Juan Mata; Jesse Lingard, Rashford, Ibrahimović.

    Predicting a 5-0 win.

I think you could be right.
2 day rest might be pushing it a bit for those 2.

Don't get me wrong, I'd include Carrick in my XI definitely but I don't think it would be the same Carrick especially since he has only featured intermittently this season. Ibra has been 50/50 of late so I don't mind him being benched, would be interesting in my lineup to see if Blind can do what Carrick does for us..
