Not playing Pogba makes sense to me, he went into hiding when things got tough.

Maguire must have 100 lifes. In the 2 games Jones has been involved in, he has been 100% better than Maguire has been in over 12 months. Ive given up understanding why Mctominay is indispensable to every manager at this club. Ronaldo is our only striker so it is what it is. Prediction is 1-1, creative i know.

I cant get my head around why Maguire still gets picked. The rest of the line-up seems at least defensible. But there is just no reason Maguire should be selected ahead of Lindelof, or even Bailly for that matter.
I could give you about 80 million reasons why…..

    Really

I thought we would rotate more. Games are starting to ramp up. We at least have two players to bring on if we need a goal.

I really wish he would just to end some of the whining in here.

Unfortunately, the whining never stops in here. When it wasn't Ronaldo it was James, when it wasn't James, it was Fred. When it wasnt Fred, it was Pereira. When it wasn't Pereira it was Martial. When it wasn't Martial, it was Smalling. When it wasn't Smalling, it was Rojo...

You can continue this back for 30 years, somehow us United fans seem to blame one player for all of our misfortunes and failures on the pitch, even though it's always a multifaceted problem for which there is no silver bullet!

But, yeah, Cleverley out and Welbeck up front and we'll win the league.

Would rather Telles and Lindelof for Shaw and Maguire, get ready to watch Shaw walk back after 30mins and Maguire to try and steal the ball high up (when Shaw is walking back knackered), turn like a bus and concede a goal.

Rest of the team I’m happy with. Rashford needed dropping for his poor tracking back as well lazy sod.

Bruno Fernandes absolutely needs to calm down with his attempts to do everything on his own especially when we are chasing a game. That headless chicken pressing habit of his doesn't help especially when he is being asked to played in a midfield two towards the end of the game.
Would also be good if he stopped with the constant whinging and feckin whining too.

The lineup makes sense to me. I think this midfield has more balance, works harder, and introducing Elanga at Rashfords expense is fine given the latter's form.

Maguire and Ronaldo with another 90 min, of course! Makes sense. I am not surprised in the slightest and still somehow massively disappointed.

I think Rashford being substituted several times when we are chasing a goal lately + being benched today is very telling. RR obviously not happy with Rashford's poor workrate. Pogba being eased in is understandable even if our creativity will suffer. Might help getting him in in the 2nd half when we usually struggle. Rashford and Maguire obviously because of lack of options/squad status.

If Pogba wasn’t leaving in 4 months I’d agree. Personally I’d have gone for Bruno as a false 9 but it is what it is.

I'd have used Bruno as a false 9 as well but at no point would i drop Pogba right now as he's playing better than Bruno and we need to start winning.

That’s why you’re a newbie with silly posts like that.

I might be a newbie on here but I've probably been watching United longer than you.

They've averaged 57% possession away from home and are only behind Leeds, Liverpool and Man City in terms of pressing.

Stylistically they are all wrong for us.

Are we having another McFred meltdown? I'm not sure how much more evidence we need that Pogba in as a midfield 3 with Bruno leaves us more exposed at the back. Plenty of good moments going forward but that lack of control is clearly grinding Ralfs gears. Not just Pogba's fault, of course but Fred will work harder every day of the week and is contributing Plenty going forward too. The right move in my opinion. Ditto with Elanga over Rashford. Any fecker not prepared to work their ass off, I want them sidelined.

i honestly think our best 3 man midfield in a 4-3-3 is Matic, McTominay, Fred. It's pathetic but its the one that gives us an actual defensive midfielder and two box to box midfielders to help Matic with the leg work. Now it offers very little going forward and requires even more individual brilliance with how disconnected of a team we are but it's the one that I feel would help us control games the best.
