A bit of a off topic but it will be my first time at the old trafford tomorrow. Travelling from Finland to Manchester tmrw. Which would good pub near OT to take couple of pregame pints?

The reason why kids are not being played is that our team is so bad, Ralf R, doesn't want to introduce a young player for the first time to the first team, when they are getting beat so easily.
When the team is playing well and is stable with decent senior players, kids can be introduced and given a good introduction to first team action.
If we are getting spanked (and this could happen tomorrow), the last thing you want is to introduce a youth player, for the first time where the crowd are boo'ing and the general atmosphere is toxic/negative.
The best scenario for a youth team player to get experience is if we were 4-0 up with 20 mins to go. 1-2 youth team players can then be subbed on, knowing that the team is winning the match, the opposition have basically given up and they can just acclimatise to the pitch, the atmosphere, the fans, the (senior) team-mates, etc.
I guarantee you the kids being given a chance to finally play for the first team don’t care at all about the things you said. They are playing for the first team : their dream has arrived.

I don't understand why we're playing today? We've already played 35 games, 1 more than most teams in the league.

I’m in a very similar situation - got a recommendation here to hit the Tollgate before the game, and I guess that’s my plan later tonight

Apparently there is a walkout planned for the second half? I'm sure the Glazers are shaking in their boots.

    Anyway, Brentford win.

We will need another two wins to secure EL football. We could win this one but not sure about Brighton and Palace away at all.

Conference League is definitely still a scary proposition.
well at least I could cancel my BT Sport then

Travelling up on Saturday for this one as booked hotels before they changes it for bloody Sky - one thing I am not enjoying about the Premier League it has to be said! We were missing three key players from last week vs Spurs so hoping at least Norgaard is going to return. I have never been to OT in the away end so that will be a new experience and I am looking forward to the game, more-so than a few weeks ago but our form has taken a nice little upturn to safely move us away from the relegation zone. Eriksen is such a sublime footballer and has made a massive difference to our game bringing everyone around him up a level. Didn't realise it was United's last home game until I read this thread!
at least you are guaranteed to see at least one goal since we can't buy a clean sheet these days

    I think we'll lose.
CFC were wasteful in front of goal in our last game and we got a draw.
I think Brentford will create fewer chances than CFC but will be more clinical.
Unless of course, the GOAT scores a hattrick.
I presume you mean Jesse Blingard - hearing he may still get a new contract (see Sky Sports) :nono:

I've been wondering that - all I can think of is Brentford don't have a free slot but even that seems wafer thin

The Chelsea game was brought forward because of the FA Cup final.

The post-match “lap of appreciation” is going to be another sorry image in what has been a surreal season.

I see a draw tonight, but if Brentford play to their best, I could see them winning if our players down tools and let Ronaldo down again.

    Will go for 1-1

A victory here would go a long towards saving us from the dreaded Conference League. Hope we can pull it off, but nothing is easy these days.

Hannibal, Fernandez and Garnacho played for the U23's yesterday, so doubtful they'll be involved. :(

    Hopefully Fred's back at least.

Fan footage from the players 'lap of honour'...

I’m baffled as to why sky are bothering to televise this. It must be the most pointless and likely boring game they can.

They agree their televised games a few months ago and probably assumed we might still be in contention for top 4

I'm only here to watch Ronaldo, hopefully some more goals for him to get closer to another 20 in the league

    Gernacho, Fernández and Hannibal please.

    De Gea
    Dalot Lindelof Varane Fernández
    Matic Hannibal
    Elanga Bruno Gernacho

Big atmosphere today, reds. It’s been a shit season but we love this club and won’t be back here for a few months.

So does anyone actually give a shit about these last 3 games? Ive checked out for the first time ever, will get excited again once new season starts

We really, really don't want Conference League football so it's in our best interest to try and win the remaining three games and finish 6th.

    Sadly, this

The basic bitch in me is more looking forward to the post-match lap of honour than the match itself just to see what kind of reaction the players get.

This is a chance to give Grant his last place on the bench for a home match.
Yay ! 3 keepers on the bench.
(well, it's no more insane than having 2 keepers on the bench).

What reception will the players get from a post match lap of honour shame?
