Poor challenge by Lindelof, one of several weaknesses he has is defending crosses, his positioing and tenacity is so often weak in the challenge. He simply isnt good enough to partner Maguire but he is so often with these injuries our only option, I would still start Bailly over him now though.
Maguire is a decent defender but he is certainly not a great one and that is why he needs a much better partner than Lindelof. No world class defender would have been nutmegged so easily there, poor defending.
And the DeGea, yes it was pointblank, but poor positioning, he left an actual gap at a really tight angle for Stanislav.
If we are to make a challenge next season for me one of Lindelof and Bailly should be sold and a quality defender should be bought to replace them.
Goalkeeping wise, I am really not sure. Romero is an able deputy for sure, Henderson I dont think is ready to step up.....but the more mistakes DeGea makes the more I ask myself, does he need to be?
