totally wrong, he was trying to mark 3 players, id not even know one was behind him, Elanga should have been on the goal scorer, Rio got it spot one.

It’s a definite foul on Elanga, it doesn’t matter if it’s soft, there are two soft fouls on him and he goes down without much resistance but that’s modern football.

Yeah they’re given way more often than not. Still doesn’t excuse our shape in defence though - especially not the absent midfield or Elanga not tracking his man.

I would say Elanga should be taken off at half time, because it's important to show young players that going down that easy and then not busting a gut to get back isn't acceptable.

But we'd only be replacing him with someone who'd have done the exact same.

Elanga is the one who didn’t track his man. Dalot did all he could, as Rio showed on the replay.

The effort was there so can’t fault the players attitude. We do need to get some Better quality in defence in the summer, as the managers aren’t trusting Bailly (I would, especially in big occasions) and Lindelof to start over Maguire, who isn’t as bad as people make him out to be, but definitely not a calm enough presence at the heart of the defence.

Hope we can get an early goal in the second half, otherwise we’ll be playing their favourite game.
