    This is why cup competitions are seen as below league in prestige. The best team can have a bad day and they’re out. The worst team can get supremely lucky on the day and win it.

    So I’m not underestimating any of these three teams regardless of their league positions.

    I really hope we win this one so we don't see the inevitable stuff about how we "shouldn't have let them go" :lol:

    Ofcourse that has to be the plan. I don't think we will sit back against someone like Dzeko who is excellent in the box.
     
    I wonder what sort of refreeing we are going to get tonight? A football game should never be influenced by the ref but as shown by previous games, there have been some terrible refreeing in Euripean games.
     
    If we needed a reminder that football is a relatively narrow odds game, Barcelona vs Granada right now is a good one.
     
    Good side, no idea why some people moan. The only controvery is Greenwood benched but I think the argument to start both Rashford and Pogba is pretty strong.
    The rest picks itself pretty much.

    So bummed - visiting Kenya and for some reason they don't have the game on DSTv here even though it looks like it's showing in South Africa and my internet is not the greatest for any other methods.
     
    The McFred pairing is a bizarre one in that it isn’t good enough for the long term but there are also clear and obvious reasons as to why they both start in the midfield in matches like this.

    We don’t have the right balance in midfield but I’m not even sure how you fix it. Pogba has to play and he is much better further up the pitch. Enter McFred.

    In an alternate world they turn into fantastic passers of the ball and all would be well.

    Roma are a decent side, but none of their players would be in our starting eleven. I hope we win this easily

    I'm a bit worried with Dzeko and him heading one or two in, maybe from corners. We should have enough to win but I don't take this hugely motivated Roma side for granted. They've had some good results in the CL in recent years knocking Barca out but we couldn't lay a glove on Barca across two games in a very pitiful performance.

    Granada were an absolute b*stard of a team to play against so I'm not that surprised they might get something against Barca.

    With Bruno looking not as effective recently, I would try a McBruno midfield when we get the chance to.

    Hoping smalling has a blinder with us simultaneously winning 2 0. Always liked mike and don't want the whole board going through him again

    Yes you are right... we should win this, and there are no excuses if we don't. I'm probably just trying to find excuses to my own nervously feeling about the game. :0)

    Fascinated to see how Smalling plays. Extra fascinated to see if he’s still as grabby as he was for us whilst defending set pieces. Decent line up for us so come on Utd!
     
    Amuses me how many (myself included) mentioned the Barca - Granada result :D
