That awkward feeling when you want to beat the arse not because we stand any chance of top four finish, but to keep them at bay from Leicester.

we have officially become as smalltime as the scousers.

but still...let's not give Arsenal any easy way of catching Leicester.

de Gea, Smalling and Martial being available would be a monumental lift. Really hope that's a possibility.

With those three we can overcome the fullback situation I reckon.
If all three are out we're in monumental difficultings

...I'm getting psyched for this one :nervous:

Surprised at the negativity on here.

Wenger spends most of his life changing the game plan against the big boys, especially when he plays away. They have done 1 massive point better than us in the PL over the last 6 games, so they are not exactly in form themselves. And if we are shit, it doesn't make them much better.

As always it is who ever wants it most, they certainly were up for it at the emirates, hopefully we can return the favour.

    De Gea
    Varela Smalling Blind Riley*
    Carrick Schneiderlin
    Lingard Mata Memphis**
    Martial

    * Or will Rojo be risked from the start given the opponents?
** After his performance midweek he has earned the right to cool "first name" status

Which players turned up at the Lowry? People on twitter mentioning likes of De Gea, Martial, Smalling and Fosu-Mensah but the last one aside I don't really trust the speculation

I'm pretty sure the Smalling, De Gea & Martial was a joke but I think the Mensah one is genuine.

I don't feel confident at all against Arsenal however I am looking forward at this game as I really wanna see if some players (Schneiderlin, Memphis, Rashford, Varela) can step up just like what they did against FC Mitjiland
If both Smalling and DDG are back, it will be a massive boost and increase my confident a little bit.
If Martial isn't fit then I won't risk him and play Rashford instead, the boy is in a high confidence right now.
I hope Memphis can perform well, he needs to prove himself that he can do the same thing in EPL as what he did in Europa and Champion League.
I watched the press conference that Rojo is still not ready to play but to be honest he's the safest option for left back if CBJ is still injured.
And Timothy Fosu Mensah, there are rumours that he is in a hotel with the squad. Good news if it's true.

Is Borthwick-Jackson fit? He trained with the team

Really should be sacked by now but low and behold he's still here.

Injuries make this a very difficult game. Hope we keep it competitive at least.

I'm buying the hype that Memphis is the greatest player in the world (better than Messi), so we should win this.

We win 1 game against the worst team in the EL.
We beat a League 1 side.
And now the most predicted score is MUFC 2 - 1 AFC, which makes no logical sense.
    Lets not forget:
    1. that the last time we played an EPL side, we lost.
    2. our league form is akin to side fighting relegation.
    3. Arsenal are not in League 1 and are too good for the Europe League.

I can't see us winning this, unless Arsenal go down to 9 men (yes, 9 men...that's how bad we are).
Even if Arsenal played the entire game with 10 men, I think we'd lose.
And with regards a draw: I don't think AFC will show us any mercy to allow a draw. If they need to score, they'll up the tempo cut us open and score.
    My prediction 3-1 to AFC.
You are missing the fact that Arsenal's form is quite bad and they've scored like once in their last 3-4 matches. Logic stands I think.

Arsenal will destroy us comepletely. I want us to win but i think arsenal will have too much for us, especially with an incompetent manager and an injury hit squad.

I know you're trying to be funny, but doesn't he use his first name because he hates his dad, rather than trying to be cool?

Scored 2 against Leicester and i'm not sure we'll cause the same difficulties barcelona did. We're closer to hulls level, but the good news there is arsenal failed to score past them...
