    Amrabat and Casemiro largely culpable for City's last two goals. Why does this club persist in signing players that are either too old, too slow, or both?
     
    All those marginal decisions that City get are infuriating. The little tug on Rodri in the home fixture was no more a foul than the Rashford one.

    Ederson was out of control and he barely got anything on the ball, and crunched Garnacho. Goal kick City.

    Yeah they were the better team by a mile but getting those crunch decisions affects the result.
     
    Before people start excusing him with injuries and a crappy squad (due to his crappy transfers): Bournemouth gave City way more problems in their last game.

    How long will we wave this card? Have all their financial irregularities amounted to more than our financial mismanagement?

    Their source of funds may be dodgy while ours is legit, but they have used it well and we've been dodgy as feck.

    It’s why we struggle sometimes against the likes of Palace or Wolves or Fulham last week. They might not be the best players in the world but the likes of Iwobi, Adama, Cunha are strong and quick. They just leave players like Lindelof for dust.

    City’s spine of Dias, Rodri and Haaland is physically imposing. It’s then surrounded by supreme technical players like Foden, De Bruyne and Silva and pace in Walker and Doku. They are literally quicker, stronger and better on the ball.

    Under Mourinho we actually had a big team with Lukaku, Matic, Pogba but now we really need to add speed, muscle and technical ability.

    We can see a little bit of silver lining in Garnacho (speed and decent ability), Hojlund (physical and quick and seems talented) and Mainoo (talented on the ball) but we need to add some muscle to that group too. Martinez makes up for his lack of size with his aggression. There just isn’t enough of that in the team.

    Yeah not saying it was impossible but it was always there for city to win it.

    Two things can be true at once. Any United fan praising this sportwashing house of cards can feck off as far as I'm concerned.

    I question that too.

    But the handling of Ronaldo and last year's achievements give him rope.

    It's too bad he's stuck between a counter attacking side and his Ajax ways.

    The players we have available (and unavailable) are sub par, miles behind city... but what baffles me is the apparent complete lack of coaching.
    Week in, week out we see a Utd team with no coherence, no style, no strategy. Left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. We just hope for moments of brilliance.
    I'm.convinced ETH doesn't re-watch the games. Surely the players aren't incapable of understanding and implementing basic tactics, they just don't seem to have any.

    It has been weak for years. The emphasis on fame rather than team building has ruined us. I mentioned elsewhere that apart from Rasmus there is no physicality in the squad. No determination that nobody is going to get the ball off them. We are not going to get CL so the footballing side has to decide where we are going in the summer. Trouble is the names of Potter and Di Zerbi do not fill me with confidence. Maybe we get Potter to start the rebuild and the Di Zerbi to improve us more. Think I am joking.
     
    That was we just did a bad job of adopting oles tactics against city. For most of the game we did the off the ball stuff but had no real plan or patterns of play on the ball.

    The subs post game behind were really strange, how was replacing mainly and garnacho with amrabat and Forton going to help us get a goal?

    Also, if ten hags plan was always to make us a transition team why sign a relatively slow inverted winger?

    But they are better than him.. why waste money when you don't need to..
    We spent 10M on him, 55M on Mount.. 5M on the goalkeeper who hasn't played a game ..
    We could have bought 1 player good enough to be on the first team with that money..

    I think with the right coach the likes of Garnacho, Mainoo and Hojlund will get better. I would keep Dalot and with a good goalkeeping coach I actually think Onana will improve more. Oh for the days of Eric Steele and Tony Coton.Others have said that ETH has underestimated the physicality of the PL, I think that is right. It surprises a number of manager and players when they come here.

    Oh no! The thing that’s been happening for 12 years happened again, let’s have a crisis over it.

    What do you want people to do?

    1. We all knew this was where the Glazers had brought us;
    2. We all knew this was where the oil state and the 115 gad brought City;
    3. No point guessing what SJR is going to do to fix it. So far his fixes look sensible, results and further changes will take time;
    4. With all of the above anyone with half a brain expected today and worse and knew there was precious little anyone could do about it;
    5. City will almost certainly win the league again this year setting a record for repeat wins. Arsenal and Liverpool are much better run than us and they can ultimately do nothing about that either (hope I’m wrong).

    If you aren’t numb to this result before it happens you need to wake up.

    Let’s hope the future is bright with SJR and the 115 charges, but you best believe I’m bracing for 12 more years of the same thing.

    If you'd just watched one of our performances under Ole, then fast forward to today and somebody told you "this is the new Manchester United under tactical genius ETH, who was brought in to implement a possession based game with control and pressing. And this is 2 years into his reign", you'd be gobsmacked.

    You sound angry. That was always going to be the plan. Defend and hit on the break. It worked once and should’ve worked a lot more but for poor control from our forward players. Well, I’m glad we at least scored anyway.

    First of all - it's not only about today, but I have seen a lot worse teams threaten City a lot more than we did today. And what is most concerning is that Bruno, Casemiro and Mainoo are good enough players to at least match City - but despite this, we get overrun over and over again. So clearly 1 or 2 of those players have to go - because they are not good enough at this level. Fulham played us off the park last match - with several of their best players missing. It's about having a style of play - you know, the stuff we still haven't got after 18 months.

    Second - you don't think ETH is a bit to blame for the team we have today ? He spent £50 million to sign a keeper who isn't better than what we had. He spent £80 million on a player who is so bad that he doesn't dare to use him. He spent £60 million on a midfielder who already is too slow to be a central midfielder in the P.L - and then he spent £60 million on a midfielder who has no idea how to use - when he is fit.

    And if this was an isolated incident - I could forgive for him for a game like this - but we look clueless in every game.
