The worst is when the City defenders jusr casually strolls into midfield with the ball without anyone following them. They constantly outnumber us in midfield because their defenders and “wingers” moves into midfield and our players don’t follow them. Grealish and Foden are just doing whatever they want because no one is marking them.

Our front 4 is doing nothing defensively…
This has wound me up the most. Rashford just casually jogging about letting the centrebacks walk past hom into midfield

Sat the kids down an hour before kick off to tell them their mum has brain cancer (genuinely, sorry for the gloom).

Put the game on hoping for something, anything, some fight, to give us a bit of a lift.

And then they do that. Cnuts. All of them.
Sorry to hear your news, best wishes to you and your family!

We've just got to beat the lesser teams and hope for top 4. City really are levels above but we've been poor.

Only plus side, I have to drop the kids off at a party so will miss the second half. I'm willing to risk missing the greatest comeback off al time.
    Yep.
    Same.
Going to the outlaws for dinner. Was going to cancel. Not now. Telling them to pick me up early.
    feck this team..

Come on, they don't beat Liverpool or Spurs like they do us. 4-0 at HT, who else have they done that against ?
For all we know the second half is going to end 4-4.

    Contain your laughter, please :nervous:

The biggest problem is our effort seems to be once again crap. You look at their players and their effort compared to us, and it is night and day.
Don't worry the effort will be back in time to start another boom bust cycle, probably the next time there are zero expectations or we're expected to get smashed

De Gea is poor today, could have been braver for 2nd and 4th City's goal. Sancho is as usual gutless and lazy. the 3rd goal was due to his laziness. He could have chased and disrupt De Bruyne from putting in the pass for Harland to score. He gave up the chase. Bruno has lost his direction. Anthony dare not to take the full back on? Mctominay poor. All the goals somehow started from the left and the poorest United player on the pitch is Dalot. There isn't any fight from the United team. Seems like they are throwing the game away. Against City, the team need to be rough, tough and full of running.

Been saying it for years, unfortunately he had a couple of games where he managed to score so his vocal support are fully back and I believe he will get his pay rise and continue to stink up the club for another 5+ years. Awful player, and that's not knee jerk been screaming it for years!
He's as much use as Pogba...

Shaw!!!! is ETH having a laugh? these players just conceded 4 goals and bringing a LB on will improve that score how?

Always thought this game would be us hittin gthem with quality on the break or getting battered, but would show where we are as a team.....and it has.

Lets not get away from the fact, three of those four goals were quality, top quality incisiveness, they would rip most teams apart the way they are playing. I think most of the back four and keeper for us have actually been oj, but it ends there and yet again opens up several age old debates as well as new ones.

    1. Dalot - Been good this season, the fact remains though, the guy cant actually tackle, not without fouling anyway. He is likely to get a new contact, shouldnt, Bissaka is still a better full back than him even with his poor form

    2. McTominay - Again been decent this season, but the fact remains, he is starting over Casemeiro, in what world should that be a thing, poor decision and too much faith from ETH for me. Casemeiro was crucial to us in terms of positioning, simple composed possesion and breakin gup play. McTominay has been woeful, dragged all over the place an dout of position, giving the ball away all the time....hardly won the ball, again simlpy isnt a starter

    3. Fernandes - Without the decisive moments he is a liability in a game liek this, simply isnt that good consistency wise, so over rated here

    4. Sancho - Despite some good moments this season, he is nowehere near the player he should be at this club, really needs to kick on

    5. Rashford - Again, looks lost, poor workrate, poor positioning, poor movement, pace isnt there now....and he certainly isnt a striker, should hav ecashed in over the summer, he simply isnt and never has been that good, but he has declined

On top of that Eriksen simply isnt good enough without the ball to play in midfield in a game like this where we dont have possesion, dragged about like McTominay, the gap between our attack and defence is huge, almost looks like we dont have a midfield as they are both getting dragged out wide.

I think this game is showing we should hav enought a second midfielder and we should have bought a new striker....and we still need a new right back.

On the ball we hav ebeen rubbish and against City if you cant keep th eball or penetrate on the break, you have no chance

Madness we spent a combined fee of 160 million on these two guys. I was hoping for a lot more from Antony, even though it's early days, it's not been positive so far barring a well taken goal against Arsenal.

Sancho though very inconsistent and always seems to fall away in the big games.

He scored against Liverpool, Chelsea and City?

Big games isn't the issue. He's barely got the ball, a collapse in midfield again. Fernandes and Eriksen giving the ball away cheaply and McTominay not being good enough.

The red shirt fits some players. For others it's too big. So many players with stage fright, not for the first time. When players on tens, some of them hundreds, of thousands a week can't pass five yards...
Teams in Europe that start players like casemiro instead of players like McT.

And even if there aren't, there's no reason to make it worse
No teams beats them for possession.

Newcastle gave a better account against city than we are, so how come?

all that said, now do people see why I was so against those damn stupid postponements?

That is not the reason we are getting hammered. We weren't even that great before. This kind of performance was never that far away.

Sad to say it, but I still have absolutely no faith in this squad. Just a bunch of lightweights who can't/won't even do the basics. Wtf is wrong with us?

No one player would have made the difference, but we should have started Casemiro with McTominay. It’s too late now to bother.

He's been garbage. Not sure what you're on about with that assessment.

Like I said they marked him out the game. They have left Bruno alone knowing full well he will just throw the ball away
