City, Arsenal and Spurs squeaked past them at Kenilworth Road. Liverpool drew.

This is one of those games that you can't really "win" as a United supporter, player or manager.

If you win 3-0, people talk about the gulf in the squads. If its tight but we win, we get called 'Moments FC' and people talk about how Luton were the better side and very unlucky. Dropped points is a disaster, the players don't care and the manager is facing the sack.

You just described practically all games as a United supporter.

There's €100+ mill of attackers on our bench yet Mctominay is the best goalscorer. Funny or sad?

You look at the team today and now it’s time for them to make it clear whether they have it in them to offer an ounce of consistency.

It’s a tough place to go, but they should be winning here. With the exception of Martinez, the team is very settled on paper.

Rashford and Bruno stepping up and doing what they did well last season will really be the icing.

    2-1?

Strong team. Worrying how weak our bench is. Doesn't bode well for April/May

Pretty much our strongest eleven. I didn’t think Shaw was going to be available today but better news that he is.

    Just hope we win today.

If I were the Luton manager, I'd be asking MUFC to hire him instead.
I don't understand how anybody can defend ETH.
I strongly believe that ETH needs to be replaced in the Summer - he is good enough to get us top 4 regularly, but a league title (if that's our aim) - no chance.

As for today's match, we are the in-form team, but Luton are a tough opponent. They won't lose easily.
A draw would make the most sense, but given the amount of goals both teams concede, I think it'll be another high scoring match.
MUFC really are unpredictable - you don't know if the high scoring team will turn up, or the team that can't score will turn up. There is absolutely no consistency in our play.

Hope we bag a few in the first half and settle down so that I don’t have to hear the commentators moan about how well Luton have done compared to us with limited budget and all. The commentator love to bash us regardless of the opposition.

Hopefully we will finally have a comfortable win by 3 or preferably 4 goals. Ideally, Hojlund, Rashford, Garnacho and Bruno should all score

    Disgraceful
Aah but Luton don't have a true football *********** and the next Pep managing them. Plus its terribly hard to spend £400m well. Perhaps we should cut our transfer budget and things will work out better? also assume Luton have had their strongest 11 available all season as apparently thats the only way you can judge a manager?

Honestly we should win today, but I've had this down as a loss since Luton got promoted. We historically LOVE to give this sort of club a big day to remember in their first PL season.

That side should be far too strong for Luton in theory though.

    PL goals scored

Cherry picked stats to make united look bad. Still grim reading of course.
Yeah, if you're going to put goals scored, you obviously put goals conceded not shots faced. But of course Luton have conceded a lot more than us so that wouldn't have served the narrative of the very selective stats.

Still, as you say, grim reading that we're even in a position that gives them the chance to select specific stats to have (yet another) dig at us.

Think it will be a tough game, the gave most top 6 teams a tough time

They’ve got 2 players who are gonna want to prove a point to us.

Adebayo injured in warmup for them

I remember this happening to a United player on numerous occasions over the years, and can’t recall it happening for the opposition. That’s a huge blow for Luton and great news for us.
