I wouldn't be too sure. The club is obviously extremely reluctant to sack him and even more reluctant to bring in Mourinho. These positive results at the back end of the season against our rivals could actually swing it for Van Gaal.

Not that I'd condone hoping we lose.
I'm not hoping we lose, but it would soften the blow if I knew it played a part in hastening Van Gaal's departure.

    --------De Gea
    Darmian Smalling Blind Rojo
    --Schneiderlin Carrick
    --Mata Herrera Depay
    --------Martial

Fellaini to come off the bench, plan b.
Think this will be the end of Rashford starts for a while barring injuries of course and surely Memphis comes back in and Mata plays right to replace Lingard. Maybe he will drop Herrera and play Rashford right. Either way I see a defeat 2-1 or 3-1.

The referee choice is bizzare for a game like this, guaranteed to see a Red Card over the two legs which will probably go a long way to deciding who progresses sadly.

I think we can go through providing the worst result we get tonight is a 2-1 defeat. I'd take a 2-1 defeat and an unconvincing 1-0 win over West Ham right now if offered, I reckon. Not convinced we can achieve anything this season after the WBA game. Even if we progress here and in the FA Cup over the next three games, we'll have another shocker to bring the mood back down.

Well you're right, I am not 100% sure but I honestly think we will wait for the season to finish completely to get rid of him. Time will tell.

Over on RAWK they seem overly confident that they will slap us.

Wonder what Liverpool turn up? They are a very good side on their day, but they have a lot of bang average performances.

I believe we shall play the same back four, two games in a row - can you believe it?

    De Gea
    Darmian Smalling Blind Rojo
    Schneiderlin
    Herrera Mata
    Martial Rashford Memphis
Only problem is, do you choose Carrick's experience or Herrera's energy in midfield? Or both?

That's what I wonder as well, we could easily lose by a couple of goals if we're not on our game or we could win well. We're so up and down at the minute.

I don't think a 1-0 defeat would kill us off but it's hard to see us coming back from something like a 2-0 or 3-1 loss.

The momentum is with them at the moment. They cheated their way to a win against a poor Palace team and we looked completely uninterested against West Brom. Klopp is desperate to beat us. I hope United show up tomorrow or it could be bad

    It's tonight.

Would be silly to drop Mata. Firstly he's done well at Anfield in the past but more importantly, he's out for 3 games so why tire another player while we're in a tight stretch of matches?

Pick our strongest side. Losing to Liverpool over two legs in Europe doesn't bear thinking about.

Mata only misses the West Ham FA Cup game I believe, but I do agree and it makes little sense to drop him. He'll play.

For some reason I just can't work up any enthusiasm for this tie.

Maybe it's because if we beat them it may prolong Van Gaal's tenure but on the other hand I couldn't stomach losing to Liverpool ever. A bit of a lose-lose situation.
If we win we beat Liverpool and if we lose we are closer to the end of Lvg. It's a win win

Is Fellaini ready for today? He will be vital to winning as they suck at defending set pieces and his chest control

The Ref is famous for dishing yellows and reds at will. I would re-think on Fellaini.

He'll be on the bench. Good option to bring on later, definitely.

He should be starting. The likes of Lucas, Can and Allen looked like little babies playing against him in the last couple of games v Liverpool

They can press us all day and we will just kick the ball to Fellaini who will cushion it on his chest and elbow people away

I'm already nervous for tonight, especially since it's so hard to predict which Liverpool team will show up. If we don't win, I'll dread going to OT next week.

Play the strongest team available, without Fellaini starting, and let's see. I've been pretty positive before games for the last 5/6 games however, I think we will struggle to draw tonight. I think the confidence in the team is low again and if we concede fist tonight we may well get beat.
How have we ended up in this shit position, with this squad? Sad times.

I'm worried which United team will show up tonight. The shit one or the extremely shit one!?

Sorry I dont understand this,it is a European match against our bitterest enemy,HOW THE HELL CAN YOU NOT BE WORKED UP FOR IT !!!!
Win or lose tonight will not affect how long LVG is the manager , he will be here for the rest of the season.

I'm actually confident for this one. LvG got a terrific record against them.

The game doesn't have to be won tonight, which is why I think LVG will go for the conservative approach. I predict 0-0 or 1-0.

I am in OT for the return leg, hopefully today we can get at least a score draw.

Nah, it needs to be 3-0 or more if you want it to be over after the first game and that's just not going to happen. I reckon we'll scrape out a win but more likely it'll be along the likes of 2-1 or something like that. Going to Old Trafford without having conceded at home would be brilliant.

I actually do think it will be 3-0 to them...

LvG has a terrific record against Liverpool, and will be the first in our history to get 5 over them in a row - so being a negative bloke I think we will lose. Either 2-0 or 2-1. Just a hunch.

I know what he means, I'm kinda feeling the same.

    Maybe it's because it's Europa League. Maybe it's because we're sh**e. I don't know...
