Normally I'd expect us to lose because it's at Anfield and our current form, but Liverpools team is laughably bad, especially with all their injuries. So I'm going to go for a draw. Even all their players who are close to returning or might be back aren't fully match fit and are more just hopes to make it, so I can't see Klopp playing all of them.

Whoever wins here though will be the one to finish above the other (and finish 5th or 6th or whatever, neither will get top 4 unless there's a drastic change, be it new manager or signings). Anyway, prediction is:

    De Gea
    Darmian Smalling Blind Young
    Schneiderlin Carrick
    Lingard Herrera Martial
    Rooney
Just please no Fellaini is all I ask for.
I just hope Carrick isn't injured or BFS is back or we are screwed as it will be bogbrush in there again. Either that or he will drop Herrera right back and put Mata there. Not sure Mata deserves to be in there.

Ideally what I would do (if schweiny and carrick are out) is Herrera and Schneiderlin in midfield, and then get Memphis on the left, Martial right, Mata 10 and Rooney up top and then we try and hit them on the break. One thing all Klopp teams are good against is possession oriented sides, especially our current one, and we are useless going forward if we do that. At least if we counter attack, we can focus on defending and then break when we get the chance with actual pace on the wings.

A draw will be fine with me. Same hope/expectation as pre-LVG/Moyes. It's Anfield and it will get extra minutes in their season review DVD.

More dropped points. Falling further behind the fourth position.

We have got to play on the counter, if not, they will cut through us time and time again.

    Perhaps we'll win.
    Hope we play well
    I'll take a 0-0 draw.
    Let's hope we score.
Or stop them from doing so.
Send high balls to the mop.
    Or sideways passes in midfield.
    Possession is all important.
    However, no matter the result.
You'll be on here screaming for his head afterwards.

I'd play nearly the same team but with Mata in for Herrera and Memphis in for Lingard.

    De Gea
    Darmian - Smalling - Blind - Young
    Schneiderlin - Schweinsteiger
    Mata - Rooney - Memphis
    Martial

What's the situation with Carrick and Jones? If they are fit I'd put them in too.

Just pray. If we get stuffed by the Scouse I may have to just lose myself at the bottom of a bottle of whiskey.

Going to be a worse case scenario. We draw so the reaction won't be strong enough for him to leave, but we drop even more points.

I think Darmian needs to be dropped as does Fellaini...

    Dave
    Young Smalling Blind Jackson
    Carrick Herrera
    Lingard Rooney Pereira
    Martial

No way we're getting a result at Anfield, regardless of how dire Pool are.

We just threw away a 2 goal lead against a relegation team that hadn't scored in 4 games.

    2-0 would be my call.

    Agree.

This is the football equivalent of two fading, punch drunk prize fighters scrapping for leftovers.

Compare us now to when we last visited these tossers at Anfield. We looked like we were finally clicking under LVG and dominated them for large parts of the game. What the feck happened?

Fellaini has to be dropped, he was bloody awful last game. Schneiderlin wasn't much better. There was no control in the midfield at all, Newcastle actually had more possession than us

Anyone know what's happened to Carrick? I was expecting him to feature in at least one of the last two games but hasn't been in the squad for either. As immobile as he and Schweinsteiger are, we missed the calming presence in the midfield yesterday.

I'm not optimistic of a free scoring United performance but at least if we get the defensive side of things right, it won't be a complete disaster.

You hardly needed to be a football genius to work out the midfield pairing was not going to work. A lot of us said commented prior the match last night.

Of course, Fellaini is always awful in a two. I was more disappointed with Schneiderlin though, he was invisible.

So after the pacy football of last night you want to go back to slow boring football?

Not been a draw in this fixture for a while. I'll go 1-1.

I'm dreading this. I think we'll lose. Maybe if we take a beating it'll finally be the end of LVG.

I fear for us if we try the possession game here, I recall this high press high energy game they employed against city and see smalling and blind getting caught out by it.

As much as he stunk us out last night Fellani might be the safe (let's not get beat) option up front as a target man to nullify the Liverpool pressing game. Horrible.

I don't want LVG to stay beyond the end of the season, but supposing he was sacked now, who would you want? Giggs interim?

Confident of at least a point.

I don't think is going to happen, but I would like to see a 433 formation.

    De Gea
    Darmian - Smalling - Blind - Young
    Carrick
    Herrera - Schneiderlin
    Martial --- Rooney ---Memphis

Rapid-fire losses against Bournemouth, Stoke and Norwich weren't the end of him. Fixtures he should have cruised.

Why would an actually loseable match get him sacked when 3 easy fixture losses didn't?

Van Gaal is staying until the summer. All we have left for this season is to hope for a miracle top 4 finish.
