I don’t see us scoring, think the best chance to get a point will be to lay back and just run like crazy. Though not sure if our guys have that capacity for 90 mins.

Based on the team's predictable unpredictability, and also their usual raising of the game against better teams, I will say they will be unpredictable and perform badly and get turned over.

Rashford out, McTominay out, and Pogba gone to Fashion show in Paris. Great chance, Great club.
I think that someone who is taking 290K a week wages from us, could at least go and cheer us on.

    De gea

    Wan Bissaka
    Maguire
    Lindelof
    Williams

    Fred
    Matic
    Pereira

    James
    Greenwood
    Martial

    2-0 loss

The distance between us and them is crazy. I hope we are still in the game by half time......

Think we could go with a 3-4-1-2.

    --------------------De Gea--------------

    Lindelof-------Maguire-----------Bailly

    AWB----------Matic-------Fred---------Williams

    ----------------------Pereira------------------

    --------------------Martial--------James

AWB as a wingback ? :nervous:
The guy's legs turn to jelly everytime he passes the half-way line.

He will be man- marking more than running past the half-way line today.
I agree. I see AWB and Williams, man marking Robertson and TAA and leave a back 3 to deal with their front 3. Martial, James and Greenwood upfront would be my choice though to hit them hard and fast on counter.

Not expecting much so may aswell try and win it.

Its been tried by many clubs, though.
Man marking their fullbacks only leaves space for them to go long to Mane and Salah.

If it was me,I'd go 4-4-2 where you can occupy their wingers and fullbacks.

We are the only team who can get a point from Liverpool this season.

We are the only team to take points off them this season, playing a 3-4-1-2 . After scoring first we should have held on. It's only right that we try this system again today.

I would think with both Jones and Bailly in the squad we could see 5 at the back.

    If Rashford is unavailable.

    Romero
    AWB Lindelof Maguire Williams
    Fred Matic
    Pereira Mata James
    Martial

    De Gea
    Bailly
    Shaw
    Lingard
    Greenwood

Our squad is ridiculously thin and Ole and Ed have got what they deserve for stripping the squad of numbers.

I think Greenwood would be better brought off the bench in a more open game if we compete first half.

I'd use Pereira to do a job on Robertson defensively and support AWB in his battle with Mane. Pack the midfield and leave James and Martial to try and get in behind TAA and Gomez on the break.

I can't think of a better plan with the players available. If Rashford was actually fit to start I would replace Pereira with James on the right.

I would think with both Jones and Bailly in the squad we could see 5 at the back.
Going ultra defensive with a back 5 would be a disaster, especially if Liverpool get a comfortable foot on the game and get a early goal.
If that happens the set-up instantly goes out of the window and then you're instantly looking for changes in formation and personal.

I think 4-4-2 would be a sensible set-up. It will offer us potential defensive solidarity while, importantly, giving us a good offensive option.

Stripping the squad of numbers and not replacing them, is the reason we are where we are.

What makes you think he's going to be attacking?
Because as a wingback, even in a defensive set-up,you would still be offering a offensive option.
Where's the width going to come from if we're attacking ? Perriera,Martial and James would be far too central.

AWB has to offer an outlet. Maybe not all the time when we're potentially attacking but atleast occasionally.

We cant go to Anfield and be ultra cautious and act like cowards.

I’m all for optimism but it’s at Anfield and we are missing McTominay, Pogba and likely Rashford too.

We also played on Wednesday whereas they will have had 8 days to prepare for it.

If we scrape a point it will be a bloody miracle.

We need a PSG miracle today....but miracles do happen and surely maybe today luck will be on our side compared to them

Hopefully Liverpool get someone sent off

We just don't have the personnel for a 4-4-2 more so with Rashford out injured.

    Think we do.
    -----------------------DDG-----------------
    AWB---Lindelof----Maguire---Shaw/Williams
    Pereira-----Matic---------Fred--------James
    -----Martial--------Greenwood/Mata--------

    Again,looks fairly solid.

Expect the pitchside screen to come into effect for a penalty call today. I don't think it can be used for other stuff but could be wrong on that.

Shitting myself for this. Head says twatting, heart of course is confident of a win!

Promised the wife a 45 min body massage if we win! So we definitely losing then
Your wife may book her appt at the beauticians now.

    Think we do.

    Shaw????
Solid mid table midfield and attack.

Well, that's the fundamental thing. Wherever you put the majority of these guys they're still a few levels below the opposition today.

I just dont think playing a diamond formation will do us any good and would just play into their hands because you're either giving their fullbacks too much space or,if we want AWB and whoever's on the left-side, to go high up the pitch and mark Robertson and Arnold you're leaving space in behind for Mane and Salah ,who would then be 1v1 with anyone of our 3 CB's.

4-4-2 Makes abit more sense because you'll be restricting Liverpool's main weapon ie width alittle more sensibly.
    Its more toe-to-toe.
