And get suspended for a game to salvage a 1-0 loss? Are you stupid?
If you make an attempt for the ball you cant be red carded anymore in a last man back scenario im fairly certain.

They introduced a double jeopardy rule

Just wanna say. If Woodward pays the extra money and signs bruno Fernandes and im positive we score one or those long range shots. The same if greenwood came on earlier.

When did I say I wanted the team to lose. You're putting words in my mouth which is sign that you either didn't understand what I meant or you're finding it hard to make a point.
I'm not against us today or any other day.
All I did was establish a relation between the cause (wins against City and Spurs) and consequence (Ole's permanence on the job which will be very harmful for us).
I was Ole in until it felt impossible to remain in that camp, if you wanna know.
Oh please, your whole harmful comments about our wins is a clear indication you wanted us to lose so Ole could get sacked. It’s a tough season but we need to invest to move forward.

Only inside the box. Outside the box any last man foul (denying obvious goalscoring opportunity) is a red.

Considering the team we put out against their best XI, we did quite well for large parts. That 2nd goal was just a real kicker though. Thankfully everybody around us dropped points apart from Wolves.

Even the commentator couldn't help mentioning how often shaw cramps up. He had a good game though, that bergkamp esque first touch was so gifable.

Better effort in the second half but ultimately the gap in quality is there for all to see.
Got very exciting once the liability that is Pereira was taken off and Mata was allowed off the leash. But too late sadly.
Truth is they should have been out of sight by half time and how they didnt score at least two in the first 15m of the second half is beyond me.
We need a least one striker and one creative midfielder of quality in this window. But the way we are run we will be lucky to get one in the door.

Here's hoping this men against boys show might just open some eyes.

We competed quite well, they had bags more than us going forward, but they were poor for large parts in midfield and Fred and Matic pretty much controlled the game for large parts

Ah. Thought it was all last man back scenarios.

No, it isn’t double jeopardy if you are not given capita punishment twice. The idea is that you can’t receive both a red card, and a penalty (and most likely a goal against) for one tackle.

We didn't do too badly in the end but it looked like it could have gotten very ugly at times.

Wasn't expecting much from it and pts dropped all around us so on we go.

Look at the big picture; without our top scorer and top midfielder (plus pogba), it was a really good fight. Not our fault Liverpool fluffed their chances. We kept fighting. Pressing until the end. We knew 0-1 or 0-2 wouldn’t make a difference. We threw everyone up bar DDG. Considering how good this Liverpool side are, IMO we gave it all and didn’t give them too much respect. That’s the first thing I want to see any United side do on the pitch.

Nah,we have some poor players too.
How can anyone think otherwise.
Yeah some of them shouldn't be here. But they fought hard today. A bit more attacking intentions from the manager, and quicker subs might have gotten us a point today.

Goalkeepers have been protected on those types of challenges for years now and everyone's acting surprised? Ridiculous. Can always argue a goalkeeper should be stronger but whatever, that is always given as a foul. Most refs would blow as soon as there was any sort of contact.

DDG seems to be on the wrong end of these because of his reputation as soft in the air.
He is soft in the air.

But it was a foul, obviously.

I might add while the result was no real improvement on Uniteds Last visit to Anfield under Jose 3-1 v 2-0 today it was a better performance going by the stats and United were missing agurably their 3 best players today in McTominay, Pogba and Rashford.

He is, but that shouldn't affect referees judgements. The one v Everton was absymal.

More often than not, as soon as there a brush of contact with a keeper, refs will blow for a foul.

Yes, that's true I think. It does seem to be affecting ref's decisions and pundit assessments.

I could understand the Everton one getting missed though. Without seeing that the arm goes in, he looks weak and not necessarily fouled on that one.

Today was a clearcut jumping in to play the man by VVD. Not violent or anything, just a contact and hope the ball is spilled and you get away with it.

Referee was dreadful, esp 1st half.

Ok quickly get Ed complete a transfer and throw him on for the last half an hour.

    Have you been drinking?

Why are you ruling out the possibility that I'm not just talking about this one match?

There are pub players out there who would have offered more of an attacking threat than Andres Perriera in that position this season, so to suggest that there are no other options is ridiculous.

Him basically shouting at Carragher was funny.

Ah, second goal made me walk out the pub so not seen any post match bullshit.

We were shit and deserved nothing less if this is the right thread to say this (sorry I seem to have the ban hammer over me for not being a pogba fan)

Given the players we had and the opposition, I can't get too sad that we lost. Unfortunately, this is the time we live in (and I've seen it before... it'll end).

The subs were my issue. I'd have put them on 10-15 minutes earlier and taken off Perreira and Shaw.

Williams is showing Shaw up and Shaw had just been yellow carded. Didn't get that decision or why wait so long.

    Onwards and upwards.

Because it's in the match thread??
Why would you be talking about options we dont have on the bench during a match. I know Pereira is shite. We all do.

It's obvious were shite and weak and all that malarkey but match by match we have what we have. So he's probably the best of a bad bunch.

Lucky? Have you watched the full game? We got took apart and were lucky it was only 2-0

James with an absolute cop out of a challenge
I was being sarcastic. We were lucky to only concede two if I’m honest. Sure we could have had a couple ourselves, but it’s a shambles from back to front.

Sourness mentioned in the studio that Utd could take a lot of positives from that game? The only positives I can really think of are Fred’s performance and keeping the score down to 2. The rest was pretty much expected. If Liverpool had won that game by 5-6, you couldn’t really say that you didn’t see that coming.

    So the headline reads.....

    Absolute chaos alright, sorry everyone.
