Fred and Mct must play. If we arn't going to create anything, then we might as well have as much energy in midfield to win and keep the ball. Pogba or Bruno can come on in the second half. Also we need James to feature as well.
Agreed. We should treat Leicester like PSG away last season. Our form is too awful to risk going mano a mano with them, or any other team in the EPL for that matter.

United are going to be helped by knowing exactly what they need to do, and exactly how good Leicester are going to be.

I think our last few poor results have been due to teams raising their game against us; but also being caught in two minds about how to approach the match (partly because of Ole's Jekyll and Hyde team selections).

    1 point = 4th place, 3 points = 3rd place

That should give us the focus we need, hopefully.
Chelsea beating Wolves is no foregone conclusion

    DDG
    Dalot
    Shaw
    Bailly
    Maguire
    Fred
    Pogba
    Bruno
    Mata
    Martial
    Greenwood

This team would be my pick. Very unlikely though.
    Very unlikely ?

There’s more chance of DDG saving a penalty Sunday

Our opponents on Sunday have suffered worst performances and results...

They are at home and will have had significantly more rest than us.

We might get the result we need. There's no good reason to be remotely confident about it, though.

Vardy the prick is guaranteed to score isn't he?

They’re going to have to attack us so we will surely get chances on the break? We need to get the lead if the scores are level with 20 minutes to play then we will bottle it like you’ve never seen before as we’ll be playing for a draw

Don't shoot me but with Rashford's form, could Dan James get a start on the left? Surely there's going to be room on the counter as Leicester need to win and they have injuries/suspensions in defence.

Rashford will play and he’ll score. Quote me on it.

So many people confused with the permutations for final day so here goes

    1. Chelsea v Wolves : draw or Chelsea win
Leicester v Manutd : draw or Manutd win
    UCL - Manutd and Chelsea

    2. Chelsea v Wolves : Wolves win
Leicester vs Manutd : draw or Leicester win

    UCL - Leicester and Chelsea

    4. Chelsea v Wolves : Wolves win

    I'm still confused..

Oh, I get it now. Thanks.
Your post helped inspire in setting this table up.

    CL qualification chances
    United - 7/9 = 78%
    Chelsea - 7/9 = 78%
    Leicester - 4/9 = 44%

Don't shoot me but with Rashford's form, could Dan James get a start on the left? Surely there's going to be room on the counter as Leicester need to win and they have injuries/suspensions in defence.
So on the last day of the season we drop one of our best players for a championship winger who can’t dribble past a player?

I fear that we will lose this game. Too tired and a strategically one dimensional manager. Our best hope is that Chelsea lose to Wolves.

Why does everyone want to change the front 3 all of a sudden, that's the one part of the pitch that has been dependable.

Even on their worst days they create match winning moments.

I thought Rashie looked out of sorts today. Wouldnt mind seeing him come on fresh early in the second half against Leicester. Oggie to start

We need fresh legs and energy.

    Romero
    AWB - Bailly - Maguire - Laird
    TFM
    Fred - McTominay
    Lingard
    James - Ighalo

He's had one bad game out of 9 and it's time to drop him? Despite this the guy played a match winning pass to Bruno, and had a couple really good moments.

He's scored 17 goals and made 8 assists in 30 games, ridiculous to even consider dropping him. He could be the difference in qualifying for Champions League football going by his output alone. Not to mention the chances he creates per games.

I’m not so sure About that team , there’s too much creativity there

    DDG

    Bailly if fit
    Maguire
    Shaw if fit
    Fred
    Pogba
    Greenwood
    Bruno
    Martial
    Rashford

Pogba has to sit this one out, for several reasons, but mainly cos he looks knackered, not bothered and we need grafters who will run their socks off for this final game. Same goes for Matic. I would go for Fred and Scott and give Bruno ten energy bars and a few protein shakes and get him on the pitch .

Is dalot fit? Get him in at RB cos AWB is knackered too.

    What about Shaw?

    DDG
    AWB Lindelof Maguire Williams
    Mctominay Fred Pogba
    Bruno
    Martial Rashford

I know Seyoncu (sp) is still banned but are Chilwell, Perreira and Maddison still out for Leicester?

We’ll be fine. We’ve done terrifically well to get ourselves in this position. Our front three are dynamite. Bit of rotation in midfield and Shaw back. We have to go there to win. Shackles off, front foot stuff.

Argh!!!! So fecking nervous for this now.

This is pretty much our most important match since the EL final and we’ve started playing badly again. Just rest everyone until Sunday. Massages, ice baths and tactics! I doubt there’s too much tough physical training going on the last few weeks anyway to be fair. I would be very tempted to put Fred and McT in for Pogba and Matic and bring the lads on it we need them. We desperately need some energy from somewhere

Not confident at all. We’ve crashed into
the wall and they’ve had a week to prepare. The players need to get themselves up for this and leave it all out there.
Aye and Rodgers is a canny manager. He'll know we are knackered and target our CBs and fullbacks to get runners in behind. Expect to see gray, Albrighton vardy making those runs and overlapping from Pereira and chilwell.

    I'm actually shitting it.

Both are injured and have been for weeks

Can we also register Ole as player-manager and play him instead of James.

I just think if we start with all three we’re throwing all our eggs into the one basket and have nothing to change the game if we need to which I think we will. Leicester will come after us early on so I think we should keep it tight and bring Rashford, Pogba and Matic on second half. It also freshens the team up which we desperately need to do.

Don't forget Maddison's creativity and Söyüncü's towering headers. We are in for a rough afternoon.

I'd rather we start well so we can make changes without being forced to make changes.

I think you'll have nothing to worry about here.

We have a poor record against United at the best of times (since we've been back in the Prem, I think the only time we've got a win that I can recall was the famous 5 - 3, where Di Maria scored that beauty, before Vardy ran you ragged and screwed over Rafael) and this squad is crippled with injuries. It's also very mentally fragile (I'm sure I said that on here before the Bournemouth game, but I think that just proves my point) and while we steamrollered a lot of the lower teams earlier in the season, we have bottled nearly every 'big' game this season when the pressure has been on. We've also been pretty awful in the whole of 2020.

However, it's pretty much a cup final, and we'll have had more rest, so I'm not ruling us out completely though; it also doesn't look like you are in great form either.

I think we might get a goal (hopefully Vardy, to cement his golden boot) but really I'd expect you to get two or three. If we go out chasing the game, we're going to lose - Spurs pacy forwards just showed how slow our oil-tanker back-up CB's are. Morgan has been ok, but Bennett has been a liability, and both our full backs are very inexperienced. Our best hope is to set-up shop, try and get one on a break, and then ride it out for the rest of the game.

I'd quite like to score a couple of goals early though, because I'm going to be a nervous wreck.

Season defining game. Need to get a result by any means possible. Can't afford to get overrun again, which is a likelihood given they're fresher. I wouldn't mind a midfield diamond of Matic, Fred/Pogba, McT and Bruno at the tip, with just Martial and Greenwood up top for starters. Aesthetics can go for this one. We'll rest up and reset after.
