Lots of negatives, but ultimately it was just our own individual mistakes that cost us the goals. It's bad, but probably not as bad as the instant reaction we're all giving is. We'll pin them back in the second half, hopefully Mkhitaryan and Rashford can give us some more penetration in the second half. Mata and Lingard will be subbed.
Would be pleasantly surprised if that did happen, but it definitely wont... Don't forget we only have 2 substitutes.

Young, Mata, Lindelof have been truly atrocious. Herrera invisible. Martial has lost his head a bit. Lukaku isolated. No different from where we were 3 years ago to be honest (this performance not overall).

It's incredible. When you have 2 players on the pitch who don't play much (Lingard/Lindelof) the team looks so much worse.

Why is that not a pen I never know. It is a foul right? But in the penalty box it is not? F me

Also, can we finally all agree on the fact that Martial is a bench player for the final 20 mins once Rashford has done all the hard work please?

That's nonsense. I think they'd both struggle today. I suggest getting both on at the same time so Huddersfield couldn't just crowd one side.

No surprise to be honest. This is what happens when you fill your squad with average nonsense and don’t buy properly. Had plenty of time to rectify it but hasn’t.

Lindelof played lcb last season all the time and smalling looked best in Rcb role under lvg.

Why the f are they playing opposite sides.

It's clear we're not winning the league this season. I just hope we have enough to challenge top 4. We're miles away from Man City.

It's laughable how bad we are when attacking. Simply hoping that Lukaku or Martial do some magic to pull a rabbit out of the hat is not going to get the job done. When we have the ball in attack, our players run towards the nearest Huddersfield player to get covered instead of trying to get open to receive a pass.

We are being found out because of our work ethic again, can't win a 50-50 and players are walking around the pitch when we have the ball. No one wants to drop into the hole when we are in the final third when there is no space get played in behind. The intelligence of our team has got to be one of the lowest out of the 'big 6'.

That pen decision was just appalling

It absolutely was. As was the Lingard obstruction in the corner, though that was the linesman, I think. But the ref should have seen one of the several fouls on Lingard before it happened.

So many non-fouls given, and genuine fouls not against both us and them. Looked a clear handball from Martial as well which he waved play on. Mason is having a stinker.

Would take a draw right now. Don't wanna lose to this lot. Not after they cheered the Jones injury and then sang a Man City song. feck these mongrels.

With them parking the bus and counterattacking us, and without attacking players available, we should have gone for the alternative 3-4-3.

Basically got Mourinhoed. This is exactly what Mourinho does to teams, waits for them to make a mistake. If Mata had not made that mistake it would probably still be 0-0.

We can write this one off. Maybe a draw if we can score early in the second half. TBH, City are going to stroll to the league title. If this was City they would have been 2-0 up inside twenty minutes. We are solid at home, but we struggle away from home.

I watched Spurs absolutely demolish Huddersfield a little while back. It's awful that we are two nil down.

that is unforgivable. I know Mata and Lindelof made mistakes but feck me its Huddersfield. Jose needs to stfu and start earning a new contract.
    :wenger:
Did jose give the ball away at centre circle? Lindelof chickened out in the instance mata lost the ball and went back rather than going for the ball and making a challenge. Second was another feck up. The only thing jose did wrong was buy lindelof, but i am sure he dint injure jones and for the time he was on, we looked solid.

Mikhi and Rashford for Herrera and Lingard. We have nothing to lose. Go all out.

    And leave no subs?

Mkhitaryan is shit as well, he can hardly control a ball when pressed he'd be useless in a game like this.

Also, can we finally all agree on the fact that Martial is a bench player for the final 20 mins once Rashford has done all the hard work please?
I think Martial is a big talent and time and work can get him there, but not so sure he should start every time.

I know people do not want to hear this , but we really miss Fellani. Physically without him we are just a push over and our lighter players do not have the quality to compensate for been so weak physically.

We will get two points, defending for our lives. Jose has fecked up badly starting from the negativity in that Liverpool game. Complete momentum killer.

I’m going with one point. I just think we are not very good and I stick with my preseason 4th place finish prediction. We certainly miss our best player Pogba badly. Also I don’t think Jose believes this team good enough to beat the best teams, I certainly don’t, still need another summer of quality additions but should be beating shite like Huddersfield.

Would it have hurt to play McTominay in MF? I know it would be an ask for him to just come right into the lineup but we're relying on Matic and Herrera, two holders, to get us forward. Both have abilities to play the ball through but they seem hesitant to do it.

We also saw why Mata isn't played centrally. He simply can't protect the ball when he's confronted, leading to a counterattack. If we have to keep playing him on the wing in order to conceal his weaknesses, we should replace him with someone else.

Whole team has been putrid, though. Absolutely fuming with this manager, we've been shit for the past couple of weeks now.

Things can't get worse as we're already losing 2-0. Bring in Mkhi and Rashford for Mata and lingard and go two at top

Not much can be done but to bring Rashford and Mkhtariyan for Lingard and Mata at half time to try and change the game. United must go and buy some tough midfielders during the January window.

Disastrous half. We need to come up with something special for the second half, but I can't see where it would come from. Players look lost out there and the bench isn't look too great

Our first real challenge in terms of how we respond in a position of adversity. This will be the real test of whether or not we have progressed from last season. Got 45 minutes, I don't care if we lose 3 or even 4-0 trying to get back into the game. But playing it safe is simply not an option anymore.

Put simply, if you tell the team to park the bus against Liverpool and to scrape a result, what you are actually telling them is that they aren't good enough. They will then play that way. Momentum is so key in football...tell them they are champions, ask them to play like champions and you will reap the rewards.

This is the inevitable consequence of a negative psychology.

Congratulations & welcome to a select 2 man club. Finally omebody else who actually understands this. I thought I was on my own.

Momentum is vital. We turn our noses up at the oppurtunity to build it...because we're scared.

This is what we assembled after spending Millions (Almost a billion).

    Total disgrace ...

Valencia is 32, you cant just play him everygame.
Of course he can play every Premier League game. And even if he couldn't Lindelöf is probably the last player I'd play instead of him.
