Nice that Colleyer is being rewarded with a start
We are not through in Europa, unless you want two extra matches next month.I disagree. We need to move up in the table. It’s only January. We’re already through in the Europa so let’s give others a chance and not risk injuries. In the knock outs we’ll go full strength again as this is the best route back into the CL.
Where’s Rashford?!
It’s probably a rest for Garnacho and Amad with a tough game against Palace in 4 days.Worrying that Garnacho is not starting. Is he really leaving?
You say "we're already through in the Europa League".I don’t think it’s that. We need points in the league and we’re already through in the Europa league. We have enough out there to beat a Romanian team. In the knock outs he’ll go full strength again.
Amorim said he was sick in the last few daysWorrying that Garnacho is not starting. Is he really leaving?
I believe soWill it be like this
Bayindir
Mazraoui De Ligt Martinez
Dalot Collyer Mainoo Malacia
Bruno Eriksen
Hojlund
But in a tricky away game, I'd have thought it better to have quicker players for counter attacks - like Amad and Garnacho - rather than a slow ball player like Eriksen?I like that we have both Bruno and Eriksen as the two players behind the top striker. They are our two most creative players, and in that position Eriksen`s lack of speed does not matter so much.
Where’s Rashford?!
Agree with you.Not the selection I was hoping to see. Didn't want to see Malacia and Eriksen starting, or Amad and Ugarte being rested for our mid season, mid table league game on Sunday.
And all the pace for any counter attacks is going to have to come from Hojlund, with no Amad or Garnacho in the starting XI.
Not being someone obsessed solely with the PL and CL - and loving us actually winning trophies - I'm not as fond of Amorim's choices so far to rotate for cup games and prioritise (while still mostly losing) the league games.
Guess we’ll know more in the next 72 hours as I’d absolutely expect him to start Sunday now if he’s not.Worrying that Garnacho is not starting. Is he really leaving?
I would hope to see some in-game rotation between Bruno and Mainoo between the deeper and more advanced roles in midfield. This starting XI needs some ball-carrying ability and whether it's more helpful for Mainoo to offer that from deep or further forward is something I'm unsure of/depends on the game situation.Hope to see Kobbie in the 10, it needs to happen at some point.
So we’re through then Having 2 extra matches doesn’t mean we’re out. The chances of Bodo and Galatasaray both winning are slim. We need a point to get top 8.We are not through in Europa, unless you want two extra matches next month.
Ye but like I’ve just said to someone els. The chances of Bodo, Galatasaray and Plzen all winning are very slim. You say "we're already through in the Europa League".
That's only half true. We're not guaranteed top 8 by any means, so this is still a big game in order to avoid the extra round of play offs - and a likely tougher opponent (one of the top 8) in the last 16.
Considering this is an important final round of EL games, I'd prioritise it higher than a PL game given our mid table position and very little to contest for.
makes you wonder...how would Lindelof do as a wing back?

I can't see us dominating possession and having plenty of time on the ball to suit Eriksen. But hopefully it proves to be the right call.
he's played at CM before so he's not shite on the ball and he's got more pace than either Dalot or MalaciaShite.
It really doesn’t, the lad struggles to play his supposed primary position well.makes you wonder...how would Lindelof do as a wing back?
He's played a lot, he's being rested for the weekend.Worrying that Garnacho is not starting. Is he really leaving?
