They need an alternate to a penalty. Something that lowers the chances to 25% (either further out or with a wall). A handball or minor knock at the corner of the box shouldn't have the same impact as a trip on a scoring opportunity

VAR can exist to fix the egregious error. The problem is that everything is an egregious error with multiple angles and slow motion.
Change it to a challenge system. One per team and if you call for the challenge and are successful you keep it. Teams won't want to waste it on a tight decision (other than near the end of the game) but they would use it if they are convinced its a red or a penalty or whatnot.
On top of that; nobody working for VAR looks at the decision. With a challenge system the referee on field would review the footage himself every time. None of the awkwardness of VAR supporting their mates or trying not to undermine them.
Offside should be automated per World Cup and CL.
Handball is only a penalty if it stops a shot or is deliberate. Otherwise, it's an indirect free kick for any accidental handbells. We need more indirect free kicks anyway cos they're fun.Is Mjebri on the bench? Could do with his legs
