What happened that caused a lot of people to suddely rate Evans over Varane? I get he's injury prone but still, the general opinion on him this season as opposed to last season is baffling. We have conceded a lot of goals with Evans in the defence.

He hasn’t put a foot wrong since he came back. Obviously it’s not ideal that he’s starting but you can’t say he’s been a major problem.

He does have his flaws. The biggest issue is his confidence. When team doesn't work, he dosen't either. He also needs to ask for ball more and show that he wants to contribute.

His arriving in the box is very good. Actually one of very few of our players doing that for last couple of years. He can offer a lot to this team and happy that we didn't sell him for peanuts.
