    I still think that is a 4-2-3-1

    DDG
    Lindelof, Jones, Rojo, Shaw
    Matic, Herrera
    Mata, Pogba, Lingard
    Martial
Pogba only played as #10 in 4-2-3-1 once, if I remember right, it was Liverpool away last season.

Can’t beleive he’s read the caf and (seemingly) gone with a midfield 3.

Please can we just win this? If we win this there’s a good chance we will be back up to second by the end of the week and things will be looking up. So important that we stop the rot of draws.

It is a big chance for Martial. If he performs well as a CF and half as good as this forum makes him out to be, then he might keep Lukaku on the bench. Good players take their chances when they come.

Definitely as Lindelof at RB is a bit of a disaster.

Only positive I see is that Everton don't have a whole lot of pace. Bolasie is their best outlet in that regard.
    I'd hope for
I think he has been poor when he has played as a number 10 for us before.

His best position, as we all know is the left of a midfield 3.
Agreed, but either way we should have more midfield presence today.

come on, Martial... and, why the hell Lindelof starts as RB? just stick him as CB or dont play him. Axel is faster and stronger as RB.

Agreed - if we don’t win today, might as well pack it in

Yep looking forward to seeing how it unfolds

I have no doubt in my mind about Mourinho wanting to get rid of both Darmian and Blind.

Given the injuries / suspensions, this starting line-up is about as good as we can put together.

My only doubt is Lindelof at RB - he's not exactly quick and so there'll be no attacking down the RW tonight. Would have preferred Tuanzebe as starter, but let's wait and hope for something better than Saturday's rubbish.

Glad to see Martial up front but still not confident. Goodison is more up for this game than against the Vermin.

Taking selfies with the oppo fans. Feck sakes Mou my man!

We are not going to win. The best we can hope for is a draw. Jose is a dinosaur and it's that simple. He spends 300 million and complains about lack of expenditure. He's pathetic. Always picking fights with players, draining their coincidence or generally deploying shit tactics that suck any joy out of playing for him.

    Everton 2-0.

Weak team but we'll have to do with what we have right now.

Liverpool made 7 changes and played a weak team v Burnley. There is no excuses. The players we put out have enough to beat Everton so they need to man up and get it done.

The guy's a fecking Dementor, but I still don't think we will lose. Chin up :)

Yeah it's clear. Playing Shaw 2 games in 72 hours ahead of Blind and preferring Lindelof over Darmian. Speaks volumes for me.

Lindelof as a wingback would be a disaster.

Lindelof behind Mata is a disaster. At least though with a 352 you get Rashford/Martial/Lingard all playing in their best spots.

If Mata starts off the right you're pretty much asking Lindelof to be the entire right hand side anyway.

Alternatively play Mkhi or Rashford on the right. Neither in good form but at least there's a chance one of them will give us something on that side. I just really dislike going into games not having any kind of threat from the right. We do it all the time and against organised teams it makes it much harder.

Anyway you never know, Jose might shake it up formation wise and do something about it.

Please let's win today. Would certainly suck to be behind Liverpool when we were 7 points ahead a couple of weeks ago.

About time, should've replaced those two last January.

Like tonight's team, interested to see how they're instructed to play now.

Assuming it's 4-3-3/4-5-1.. Excited about the prospect of seeing Pogba influencing the game further forward. Lingard should be able to act as more of winger on the left to counter Shaw's complete lack of offensive ability. On the other side though.. The Lindelöf/Mata dynamic is another interesting aspect to keep an eye on, Lindelöf just has to overlap. Hoping to see Martial try to run in behind when the counter opportunities arise.

Hope you've got your frogman flippers packed. Weather in that area is awful.

Matic and Herrera.....this may not go well. If all these forwards (inc Pogba) turn up it could be good but it's a huge if.
But if that releases Pogba forward, got to be a good thing? They may not be the best two Def players, but worth a shot to stop Pogba being the dearest Def Mid in the league (which is NOT his game)?
