Surely Herrera has to play though? Bit of a damning indictment on him if he can't get a start during the most congested period.

    433 could work too.

Eric Bailly, Antonio Valencia, Michael Carrick, Romelu Lukaku, Marouane Fellaini, Chris Smalling and Zlatan Ibrahimović ruled out. Matteo Darmian doubtful.

    That's insane.

Time to use a 4-3-3 formation. I guess it will be back 4 of Lindelof, Jones, Rojo and Blind. Don't think Shaw will play. Midfield should be Herrera, Matic and Pogba. Front 3 of Mata, Lingard and Martial. I would've started Rashford and Martial up top together with Mata just behind in a 4-4-2 diamond shape but then we don't have a striking option the bench.

    4-3-3 please Jose!

    -------------- DDG --------------

    Lindelof - Jones - Rojo - Shaw

    ------------- Matic --------------

    ----- Herrera --- Pogba --------

    Lingard ----- Rash ---- Martial

We win 2-0 with that line up.

    :nervous:

Bloody hell, what is wrong with me? I'm sorry. I blame last nights party. And this morning one as well...
I'm too old for this s***.
Next year I'm staying at home, and watching Downton Abbey and knitting..
    Maybe Midsomer

Happy New Year everybody. It would be really nice to start with 3 poitns.
P.S. You can punnish me by changing my name! No? Fine, don't blame me for trying. lol
There is only one 'n' in "punnish".;)

Fancy us to get a result today. There's got to be a reaction after Southampton, I think Evertons recent results flatter them a bit and we could be playing with Martial and Rashford up top. The latter if it happens should cause them problems just with the pace and movement alone. If they actually play well(imagine such a thing!) it should be fun to watch.

Don't get the moaning about injuries at all. Half the absent players wouldn't feature anyway. The squad is massive, it can lose six players and still be better than Evertons.

Those of you who are actually sure we're getting beat today, you can get very decent odds on Everton to win. Or Everton +0.5 @ 2.10.

    Red Katie's annual united review

I also lurked this forum from around 2009 to 2013 before signing up and although I'm still mostly in the Utd forums, I can't really remember it being as bad as now. The posters not wanting Jose and have good arguments are fine but the ones threadhopping, constantly moaning, are very tiresome.

We could certainly do with a win but think this game will be a draw.

    Red Katie said:
I admire your optimism and wish I felt that too but, this is a place we have struggled at for what feels like forever. We couldn't even beat them there two seasons ago, so I have a hard time feeling positive about this one :(

    Red Katie said:
Meh, I'm just not feeling it and think we will lose.

    Red Katie said:
Hate to be that girl but I can't see us getting away with three points.

    Red Katie said:
I don't think we will show enough fight to win this but I hope you are right.

    Red Katie said:
We will not win this and that is my honest opinion. Maybe scrape a draw.

    Red Katie said:
i know but I have to agree with you on this one. Sadly think City will win 3-1.

    Red Katie said:
Have a Huddersfield feeling about this game where we have no energy and fight in us.

    Red Katie said:
Bad feeling about this one and predict 3-1 to Leicester

    Red Katie said:
    We might lose this.

    Red Katie said:
I'm going for a comfortable draw or a convincing loss. Sadly think we'll lose.

    Red Katie said:
I'm being a sad pessimist and no matter how I think about this game I can't see us escaping with 3 points.

    Red Katie said:
You know this lot doesn't have the fight in them to go to Goodison and grind out a win. 3-1 to Everton.

    Total points won, 9/63

We should be fresh after conserving all our energy against Southampton.

Nice to have Smalling back, and assume Darmian is starting. Hope it's three in midfield rather than at the back in that case.

Damnit! Click on submit line-up prediction, said "error" looked up at the clock - 15:30!

Anyways... not feeling confident about this match at all. We're crap. We've got suspensions, we've got injuries. Football, bloody hell.

    De Gea
    Darmian Lindelof Jones Shaw
    Matic
    Herrera Pogba
    Lingard Rashford Martial

Would like to see a 4-4-3 with Pogba pushed further up the field. We HAVE to change something to shake this side up and get out of this slump.

I wanna see Lingard, Rashford and Martial interchanging, free-flowing, making runs. Let's start the new year off well and be positive.

Don't really think there's anything wrong with fans being pessimistic. We're not exactly pulling up trees, even though we're due a result. Considering that we've turned more corners than Florence Nightingale and had more blessings in disguise than a Catholic choirboy in the past 4 years, it's pretty difficult to be optimistic about what we'll be served up every other week other than that in all likelihood, it will be underwhelming/frustrating.

@Muffled funk. I appreciate your effort but let me do my thing. It's a anti jinx if you want. It's only pre-match and I don't spread negativity through the forum as a few others do.

Am I the only one that finds it a bit sad that someone would go through the effort of digging up someone's posts from the last 4 months just to prove a point?

Never mind, RK. I think you might have a (slightly muffled) secret admirer.

With Rom out I'd love to see Martial and Rashford up front. Gone for Jesse at RWB simply because we are struggling for players there:

I've caved in and took sky up on their sky sports for £15 a month for 2 years xmas deal! Don't make me regret it Utd.

Before judging United too harshly look at the standard of play last few games form L'Pool, City. Feature congestion, too much pud, horrible conditions, determined defenders. Aint always a pretty sight.

Guess our new year is going to start the way it ended..hopeful but disappointing in the end.

Anyways it's the hope that Kills...so here's for a hopefull 2018 starting at Goodison Park!

I always had this down as the potential banana skin over XMAS. Looks more like we've been banana skating. :nervous:

I'm expecting a pretty low quality game with fatigue setting in for both teams. Hope we can eek out a 1-0 here.
