It's pretty hard to stay invested in our league campaign right now, but hopefully we'll get the win. We need to stay in line for a place in the Champions League after all.

Everton will be well up for this as usual. I said in the Southampton thread I didn't fancy us to win either game. Even more so now Lukaku is out.

1-0 with Everton taking a lead til 80m and score 3 in few minutes to make it 4-0, Ronney hat trick.

No enthusiasm for it. Draw written all over it.

1-1. A late equalizer for Martial after we do nothing for 80mins.

I'm not up for this game, I'd be lying if I said I'm looking forward to any league game left this season so I can only imagine this sorry lot won't be up for it either. Probably won't win, just consolidate top four and move onto the cup games / next season.

We need fresh legs. Too many exhausted players going through the motions at the moment.

Love to go back to 352 with Pogba further up the pitch. Won't happen though.

    Anyway, if I was manager:

You can bet all your money Rooney is going to score a goal of significance in this game. Either a winner or an equalizer, it’s sure to happen

If getting a goal versus Southampton was hard, this is going to be a bear. Fat Sam will be relishing the chance to squeeze and frustrate an out-of-form United struggling for goals with Mourinho at the helm. He lives for schadenfreude.

    Meh.

Us to scrape it, 1-2 United.

Lose and we are fourth. Wow. Hope the lads understand we are now playing for the top four yet again.

This is a game we could lose. We must play a 3 man midfield with McTominay or Herrera alongside Matic, who is tiring fast. Let Pogba roam back and forward.

You know what we will get.

Slow play in a negative direction.
    No fight.
    No cohesion.
876 crosses to space or someone's ankles.
Dowdy Jose with his head stuffed into the top of his Jacket.
    Lack of urgency
    Lack of energy
Failure to string 3 passes together.
    Long kick outs from DDG.

We'll be beaten well and nobody can say it's a surprise.

Or.... play as many youngsters as possible. At least they will have energy and may actually run.

This will be ugly. Can't see where the goal will come from. Either Martial magic or Mata/Young free kick.

    2:0 Everton.
No passion, no drive no game plan - this (Rooney) will kill us this game!

Sad to say, probably we get beaten unless the players buck up and go for a win

Would love for us to go out under the instructions to “have fun”. I can take us dropping points if we’re playing with intent, creativity and enjoyment. We’re in a serious funk, and I think it’s been partly brought on by our rigid focus on getting results ever since we started to fall behind City. It’s caused us to look nervous and unnatural. Pogba and Lukaku are prime examples of this. If we had a winter break now it would be ideal but as we don’t I think we just need to stop thinking about the bigger picture so much and just focus on getting our performance level back up to where it was. At our best we can beat anyone, we seem to have forgotten this. I still have faith in this squad, I just think they’re playing with too much doubt right now.

They have to travel back from Bournemouth while we only have to travel to Liverpool. May make things more difficult for them with the 48 hour break. I think we'll win.

We need fresh legs. Too many exhausted players going through the motions at the moment.

Isn't this the case for all other teams and their players?
All teams are playing many games during the xmas period, not just us.
Now, it is possible that our players are not as fit as players from rival teams, but I doubt this.
Pogba, for example, is a ridiculously fit.

So, the excuse of "our players are tired" doesn't wash with me.
