There aren't enough games left to worry about match rhythm. If someone is vital they have to play. If he picks up another injury by the end of the season, it will keep him out of those stupid end of season games. He will then have the summer to recover.
Does anyone know what's actually wrong with him? Was it a groin injury, or a hamstring? I can't even remember LvG addressing the issue, any time after the City game?
Like you, I'd be inclined to try and hurry him along given that things are going a bit tits-up at present, but Van Gaal does like his routines where injuries are concerned, and without any concrete information it's really hard to know how serious the situation is.

Dreading this as our away form has been awful. If we do lose I can see Liverpool winning at Stamford Bridge.

Really need Carrick back and need to drop Fellaini as teams have figured out to combat him and our possession based play.

Really hope Carrick is back for this one. If not, then i hope we line up

    -----Valencia----Smalling----Mcnair----Young
    ---------------------Blind-----------------------
    ----Mata-----Herrera------Fellaini----Di Maria
    ----------------------RvP-----------------------

    Feck it.

    De Gea
    Valencia - Smalling - Jones - Shaw
    Carrick
    Herrera - Pereira
Di Maria - Rooney - Januzaj

4-1. Valencia loses Dann in a corner scrap.

I predicted West Brom to beat us and really should have put money on it. I predict Palace will beat us too.

Same story. Will be all United. Palace will get one shot and score. United won't be able to respond.

Crystal palace will come at us. That's our best shot.

If they've watched us play recently, they won't.
yes they shouldnt. But Alan Pardew won't set up like that I'm sure of it. He's ego won't allow it. If they surprisingly set up defensively and park the bus, you'd fancy them to take at least a point.

I'm sure he will. No doubt about it. Sit back and you can beat Possessionchester United.

Another 5.30 kickoff? just wish this season would end already tbh.

I'm genuinely more confident of getting a result vs. Arsenal than I am against Palace. We are utterly dire away from home.

Prediction: Get sucker punched early, try for the rest of the game to come back with palace absorbing pressure, then get sucker punched again late on.

    2-0 to palace.

Lose the next two and draw vs Hull would be the most realistic based on form.

So am I. Arsenal are too dumb to not sit back against us. I am certain that is exactly what Palace will do though.

Try telling LvG that., if he isn't 100% he won't play.

Palace won't sit back, they just don't have the players to do that, they'll attack I just hope we're ready for Bolaise, and a fired up Zaha

Didnt LVG say sthing like that Carrick's return is a matter of time.

If he wont be 100 percent it wont matter. it wont be the 1st time one important player played and wasnt at 100 percent and I'm sure LVG realizes how important Carrick is.

Maybe time to inject some dam life, and youth into the team.

    -----------------------DDG--------------------------
    Valencia------Jones--------Smalling--------Shaw
    ----------------------Carrick------------------------
    -------------Herrera--------Pereria-----------------
    Janujaz---------------RVP------------------Di Maria

Any team can play a defensive setup, I wouldn't question that they could do it if the desire is there. I can't see Pardew going for that setup though.

Nothing wrong with your line ups and I wouldn't mind seeing them but LVG isn't going to leave the captain sitting on the bench. Would prefer to see RVP start up front on his own but he will be the one sitting on the bench.

    De Gea
    Valencia - Smalling - Rojo - Shaw
    Carrick
    Herrera - Pereira
    Mata - Rooney - Januzaj

I really hopes he shakes it up, would love to see Pereira given a chance, why not ? I think we need to drop Fellaini just to change it up a little bit, not to say he's been the reason for our losses but just to not make it so obvious what we will try and Young has been great too but Id like to see Januzaj given a start and if he doesn't impress bring on an energetic young after 60 mins or so, Rooney back up front also and hopefully back in a goal or two.

You lose and Liverpool beat Chelsea.......Jesus........fun for us neutrals though

Individually our team is very strong, I don't know why they've become so complacent but they have to get their act together for this one, don't they want 3rd place to avoid a play off?? The matches against Everton and West Brom were similar to the Moyes era. Deflections, individual errors and Valencia being completely useless.

Really hope Carrick plays, if not then LVG needs to try something different, I'd take a scrappy win even if it means going back to a 5-3-2. Maybe even the formation we played in the first half versus Leicester away only this time lock up Mourinho style after being two goals ahead. I can't watch Valencia run forward and turn back anymore, I'd rather McNair start right back

Genuinely believe that a midfield of Carrick, Herrera and Di Maria could do serious damage if we had a bit more quality in the wide areas. As it is, I have no idea what our strongest XI is right now or what system we should play.

The left side which was working so effectively has been nullified in recent weeks and Herrera dropping deep has harmed our fluency on the opposite side.

Crystal palace will come at us. That's our best shot.

This is our best chance of a win.
Somehow, we need to convince them, we need to put a seed in their manager's head that they must attack us and drop all ideas of buses and parking.
