Rubbish again.That's about as natural of a position for his arm to be in in that situation. If it hits the other arm, I'd have less complaints, but I don't know where his right arm is supposed to be there. He's sliding, he needs it to brace himself on the ground, and the ball is blasted at him. "His arm was out" seems to mean not tucking it up the back of your shirt, which is ridiculous.
