    Not a bad half. Chelsea a bit better than us perhaps but no more than you'd expect from the team at home. Main difference between the teams is that they have Hazard and we have Mkhi. Still, we can win this with a decent second half.
     
    Have no idea why people are slating Herrera. He has made about 4/5 crucial interceptions.

    He is clearly outnumbered in midfield but is putting himself absolutely everywhere. He is never going to dictate the game against chelsea. It's Miki who is there to create. Matic and Herrera are there to destroy. Which they have both been doing.
     
    Game of poor quality with the exception of Hazard. Defensively we look solid going forwards we are abysmal. Miki one if the worst number 10's right now, and Lukaku who just can't hold the ball up.

    Lacking players who are good on the ball with their feet, in passing or taking defenders on.
     
    I was originally sceptical, but After watching the replay shown at half time, I think the ref is correct, the push is enough to put Jones off balance and I think you can argue he wouldn't have made a meal of it if there was no contact.
     
    Sub Mikhi on for someone. He's not contributing anything. Good game.

    Lukaku looks weird without his beard.
     
    Mourinho is going to let the game go and near the end will risk it. A lot of Chelsea players played Roma and were already tired to begin with, specially in midfield and the attack. But the same could be said of some of ours.
     
    We are no match to even Chelsea, let alone Manchester City or other teams in Europe. It is very evident by this first half, we lack genuine quality if we go punch for punch and play open. We are going to get battered. I don't know how many more millions will it take to climb another level...
     
    Let's have Fellaini and Martial on. Fellaini to help stop us being overran in midfield and generally add some grit, Martial to look sexy and mysterious while scoring the winner.
     
    Herrera is having a shocker, Mkhitaryan is quiet - :rolleyes:, but decent half apart from that.
     
    Reminds me of a Liverpool game we had a couple of years ago, and just like then we are like two boxers who are way passed their best taking wild swings at each other and getting nowhere.

    Play Martial ffs. We are depending on a lucky ball in otherwise we look happy with the draw, we not looking to play for a win this is not us.
     
    Well Souness and Carragher saying that it's the correct decision while Gary is trying to find a way to make it the wrong one.

    Seriously thought, we've been so dire on the ball. I mean, it's nothing football. No quality, no fluidity, no commitment to attack in numbers. Such a bland style of football.
     
    God I hate conte, the way he pontificates on the sideline so over the top, especially when they score makes my teeth itch!! Aaarrgghhh !!!

    I've enjoyed it so far. Chelsea better during the last 15 minutes or so, but we've held our own and at least explored the possibility of taking 3 points. Chelsea don't look too dangerous to me, so I'd be happy if we have another 20 minutes of trying to take the 3 points, then settling for a draw.

    This formation is pretty solid, but it needs better players than Herrera and Mkhi to make it work. I reckon with Pogba and even Fellaini starting today we're winning this by now. We're not a bad team. But with those two playing, there's not a weak position in the 11, which is far more than can be said for the 4-3-3-1 with left back of the week, Mkhi and Mata starting.

    Think he might be waiting for conte to maybe throw on another attacker or change the shape.

    We have Martial and Fellaini waiting on the bench. Lingard too :lol:

    That was more entertaining than I thought. I’m glad we’re not just sitting back. Having said that, we lack the attacking quality to open this Chelsea defence. Mkhi has been invisible and Rashford isn’t clinical enough.

    Whatever we say after this game, we have definetely not parked the bus. Those who want to see United play fearlessly, should be happy with this performance.

    The only problem is ability. Our midfield is just not good enough. I've been saying this since the international break. Herrera and Miki are putting in the shift but they are just not good enough in this game in terms of holding on to the ball, finding spaces and linking the defence with Lukaku and Rashford.

    We are pressing, chasing and working hard. We are just short on ability especially in the middle of the pack. If we win this, it will be one moment of luck or magic like in our game against Spurs.

    A player like that would help but it seems like the majority of the team are on different wavelengths from each other at the moment, no clever runs with someone looking to pick them out, even simple give and goes are breaking down far too frequently, we rarely see one of our players just create a bit of space for themselves in a tight position and look threatening, it just seems like everything we do is very straightforward and whenever a bit more quality is required the move invariably breaks down.
