All our rivals dropped points during the weekend except Liverpool. Must have been a perfect weekend for Liverpool fans.

10/11 - thought he might have stuck with Young from the Liverpool game.

Little surprised Shaw isn't in the squad, but as long as it's not an injury I'm sure he'll play against City.

I don't get why people are surprised Mkhitaryan isn't involved. Sure he's fit now, but I highly doubt he's ready to just be thrown into big games like this. If he didn't make the bench against Fenerbahce he was never being involved here. He'll come back against City and get some more minutes in the remaining Europa League games, might be limited to substitute appearances in the PL at first as he has to displace the likes of Rashford, Martial, Lingard, Young, Mata whom none of which are exactly playing badly. However, he'll be like a new signing (again :lol:

) over the Christmas period and next year when he's had a chance to put a run of games together.

As for this game, it'd be a huge marker laid down if we can get a win - only Liverpool have won in the top half of the table, although I'd definitely take a draw due to our not-so-good record against Chelsea in the PL era (I think they're the only team we have a negative record against).

Martial not starting doesn't surprise me. Rashford is playing better at the moment, and Lingard is having a very good form.

Mou is looking to park the bus(planted a tree in the middle too for extra insurance), then look to counter or hoof. Expected tactic from him. Not attractive but if effective, good enough.

Disappointed with the line up to be honest. I think if we played with a front three of Rashford, Lingard and Martial we'd be a lot better off. Their defence has errors in them with Cahill and we should be looking to press their defence. Last year at times we started to see a more fluid, interchanging and interlinking front three of Martial, Lingard and Rashford- one which would benefit us greatly today.

I think his point is that Fellaini is effective for a stifle job more than anything. I'm not a fan of Fellaini but I can't deny that when it comes to this kind of tactic, he seems to be useful. Other than that, no need for him.

The way the last three Utd managers have used him, Fellaini is apparently indispensable.

He travelled but he is obviously more worried about Smalling's fitness. Darmian and Rojo can cover the defence, Darmian, RB, LB and CB. Rojo, no, forget about it. Shaw is just a LB.

Hazard always plays well against us. Every chelsea forward weather its Drogba or kalou or even Toress plays well against us so i expect those 2 to be the danger men.

Whilst I agree with you and would love for Carrick to play, he is only good against teams that stand off. Which Kante and Matic won't do.

Fellaini is good when it comes to sitfling/strangling the opposition.

Mourinho is not looking to outplay these guys he is looking to choke and then hit on the counter, hence the width out wide.

Hopefully this time it works.

Rashford has looked all labour and zero craft in at least our last two or three games. He is there For his speedy Ji Sung Park/fletcher qualities in big games.

Horrific passing and kick n rush dribbling that is not fooling anyone now.
