Who did look good against MK Dons? Evans wasn't the only player to underperform, far from it.

He was at fault for the first goal which was a very amateurish mistake and the third goal in which he got nutmegged and completely done by a league one player. I rate both Jones and Smalling higher myself. Haven't seen enough of Rojo yet. He was worse than Keane in the MK Dons match without question. By no means is Keane the better CB though.

Good to see Heaton. Just curious if anyone can tell how many keepers out of United academy came back to play at Old Trafford during the premiership era.

He wasn't worse than Keane, but, yes, he should have done better. So should basically every Utd player that game. He wasn't the only player to underperform. At least his error was a freak mistake. I'd be more worried if he was constantly out of position, which he wasn't. Rio and Vida made freak mistakes also. People are going way overboard on his performance.

Yes, he was worse. He costs us 3 goals from his individual errors and the overall lack of any confidence or skill. What about that freaky hand ball for which a penalty kick should've been awarded in that league cup tie, hm?

It is worrying that I cannot feel positive about a win in this match ? It's so easy to motivate for the opposing manager to fire up his players when playing Utd.

I hope Di Maria, Mata, Van Persie and Rooney have enough individual quality to beat this lot, and they should. I still really worry why we are still persisting with both Valencia and Young in the wingback positions, though.

Any extreme outcome to this match could be devastating to the rest of our season.

If we lose, obviously the meltdown will be fully on.

If we smash them, LVG might be stupid enough to think he doesn't need to go after another stud midfielder in the next 2 days.

Thankfully, Van Gaal won't be as knee-jerk in his thinking as your average caftard.

Will we get the ball to the creative players today? Lets hope so. Valencia and Young need to take more chances with their passing, as do the whole defence.

Really? Ok drop Fletcher ,who instead of him?

Im not saying Anderson is great but Fletcher is now shocking. Ando would not be as bad and at least offer an option to the defense. Fletcher is no option at all.

Definitely agree that United need to dominate the game in order to win and avoid ever being on the back foot. It's obvious that any serious spell of pressure from Burnley will result in a goal.

We're just waiting for Rafael - perfect for this system if he stays fit - and Shaw to come back and then they won't be.

Steve McManaman trying to say "Florenteeno Perathhhh" was a thing of beauty

    He's injured.

Plus Valencia was nowhere near as shit as you'd think from the comments on here in his last start. 1 assist, 3 interceptions, 6 tackles won, 92% pass completion.
I'm probably being harsh on Valencia. He's not been terrible and on paper makes for a decent wing back. I'm just very eager to see what a fully fit Rafael can do in this season.

Thankfully, Van Gaal won't be as knee-jerk in his thinking as your average caftard.

And what's more, if he couldn't get it done in the last few weeks, it's unlikely he will get in done in the next two days although time will tell.

As I said in another thread, we could have had Blind weeks and weeks ago, the fact we signed him today and not earlier this week when we knew Cleverley was going and we could have had him playing today is very telling as to what has happened in the last few days.

Good shout Jones but seriously as bad as Anderson has been Im shocked that Fletcher is ever to pull on red again.

I mean, i guess but Anderson has been just as bad but more consistently over a longer period. He's had way too many chances

I've always wanted to stroke a Unicorn, such is life.

    Recently....2 years recently...my word

He can play both positions DM and LB, but plays more at left back, I watched a lot of Ajax matches in recent years and I follow eeredivisie very tightly.

If we are playing with Fletcher behind ADM and Mata, i think he is outphasing Mata already. He is not build for cm, nevermind cm in prl. Just a theory
