Brighton & Hove Albion (nicknamed The Seagulls and Albion) are a professional football club based in Brighton & Hove. The club was first formed as Brighton & Hove United on 24 June 1901, and the name was quickly changed to Brighton & Hove Albion. The club took the place of a defunct club, Brighton & Hove Rover, in the Southern League In the Southern League they won their only national honour to date, the FA Charity Shield, by defeating Football League Champions Aston Villa in 1910. There had previously been Old Brightonians, representing the area in the FA Cup in the 19th Century. The club initially played at the Hove County Ground, with a few games were also at Goldstone Ground that was used by Hove F.C. From 1902 onwards, Brighton & Hove Albion F.C. and Hove F.C. shared the Gladstone Ground. In 1920, 19 years after the club was formed, they were elected to the Football League's new Third Division.

Mismanagement brought Brighton close to relegation from the Football League to the Conference which they narrowly avoided in 1997 and 1998. A boardroom takeover saved Brighton from liquidation, and following successive promotions they returned to the second tier of English football in 2002, from then on playing in the second and third tiers of English football until the conclusion of the 2016-17 season, where the club earned promotion to the Premier League for the first time in their history, marking the end of a 34-year absence from the top flight. Bighton's fans consider Crystal Palace to be their biggest rival with matches between them termed the M23 derby, and they play their home games at Falmer Stadium.

3 in a row without a win against these cnuts. We need to teach them a proper lesson.

Draw would be great. Same team but bring back AWB. Keep Antony on bench again.

With Gross probably playing RB here, if we manage to hold on to a draw until late in the game I can see Garnacho coming on and causing some problems.

I’d take a scrappy 1-0 win courtesy of an unintentional Maguire header, a freak goal that would single-handedly put him on the shop window for June.

A draw here, followed up by wins at West Ham, Wolves and Bournemouth would secure 4th before the Chelsea match basically. A loss would require a draw vs Chelsea to be able to go in to the Fulham match with the B-team.

We'll probably lose and have a very bad game. Not a huge deal. Would be shocked if we have a competent game tbh. They'll be out for revenge, they are fresher, they are home, while United is comfortable in top 4 but also running on fumes a bit. After this and West Ham, we finally will have a few weeks of no mid week games where we can be fresh for the cup final.

Will gladly take a draw. Just get through this very tough game against our bogey team without any injuries & suspensions please.

Not bothered by Chelsea at all...they are utterly incapable of scoring goals.

We usually lose in the league after dumping the same team in a cup game. I'm happy with a draw here.

I’m pretty sure this is going to be a nailed on loss. Possibly 3 or 4 goals. They’ll want revenge, are in form and will probably do a Newcastle on us.

    Will be tough this

We look tired and they want revenge from Wembley. Id take a point now in all honesty.

Same team. A win and that’s pretty much top four sealed IMO. We shouldn’t expect anything less - Brighton are a good team in good form but I think we can grind out a result. We looked better today than we have for a few weeks

Despite them scoring only 2 goals against us in 220 minutes they are gonna absolutely destroy us. Will snatch your hand off for a 1-0 or 2-1 loss.

I'd take a draw. Brighton tactically are miles ahead of us and they'll likely control the game. Best chance we have is doing what we did in the FA Cup. Sit deep frustrate them, get Malacia and AWB to shut down their wingers and rely on attacking transitions to create chances.

    Apologies for the positivity

I'd take a draw if offered now. Very difficult game, Brighton will be hurting after that recent FA Cup semi final loss, and at home they'll be so fired up for revenge much like Newcastle was after the league final defeat.

Wouldn’t they have been up more for the cup game than a random game midweek?
I wouldn’t be scared of Brighton based on if they want to try hard or not

It will be a tough game and we’ll probably lose. My main worry is to avoid a drubbing, injuries and suspensions. The team is, unsurprisingly, pretty knackered out. Win our home games and I think we’ll be fine for top 4. In Erik’s first season, that’s a real achievement ( plus league cup of course).

United to win might have to suffer for it but will get the job done .

Would have said the same about Newcastle (league cup final v random league game) but were buoyed up by their home support. United's away record against the top eight this season is what's scary.

Feel Maguire will start. Can't hide behind he's injured tag no more, you just played the cnut.
Feels like Newcastle scenario, we win in the cup, they win in league, hope i'm wrong, but our away form has been shambles and if it's Maguire and Lindelof at the back, it's going to be gash.

We need to win especially when they thrashed us at the beginning of the season. We need our revenge.

I had this down as a defeat and it wouldn’t be a shock at all. But now that Case and Eriksen are back, I’m more optimistic. I’d probably take a draw but I think we’ll sneak a win.

I don’t get the math here. One win and we still have five games left. If we lose every single one of those last five, we won’t get top four. Our team looks so shaky it’s about time youngsters do come in and play a part, even if just for rotation. And our lack of rotation this season has come to bite us.
I think we can hold our own but I don’t understand this post and others. Football is funny. I remember everyone slagging off arsenal last year and I thought they were a few signings away to possibly being dangerous. No one knows what could happen next couple of weeks. But boy do we need signings
