I will reserve my judgement until he gets settled in with the pace of the league but I too would start having doubts if the underperformers keep getting picked up for the starting XI.
You have to give him at least 10 games to see what he’s trying to do and which players he picks consistently.
I’d also point out sacking and changing managers every 8 months because they keep picking McTomminay isn’t helping us and maybe says more about the players who can’t put him out of the team than anything else.

I do not want to see McT and Rashford ever again.I suspect that both Maguire and McTominay are dedicated in training, take the manager seriously, are loyal, etc. The other extreme was the Lingard, Pogba vibe, Instagram star, cool goal celebrations, etc. In the absence of reinforcements, the temptation would have been to stay with the loyal element. Ronaldo added to this when he came in, which pee’d off Generation X even more.
It all seems a bit fragmented now, at the start of a more extended process. I’d say by this time next year we will some inkling of whether the medication is working. I’m not writing off this game, though. I predicted 3-0 to United.
