Poor motivation - a player should not need any more motivation. He steps into the stadium. 75k fans shouting at the top of their voices. Wearing the shirt. What other motivation is required?
Tactics - do you honestly believe that Jose tells our players to play with low intensity and not to worry about scoring goals?
1 goal advantage? I don't think that's enough. I think we need to go 2 goals down before our players think to themselves, "right lads, it's time to score goals".
Jose needs to sort this problem out this season, so that we can hit the ground running next season. We can't afford to wait for an opponent to score 1-2 goals, before the players decide to "play".
Let's score 2 OGs, in the opening minute. Then watch as our players chase 3 goals.
For whatever reason, unless we are behind, the players can't score goals.
Against Sevilla, we didn't score for 150 minutes (I think it was). They score 2 goals and within 10 minutes we scored.
Similar with CP. Similar with CFC. Similar with MCFC.
Think many players will be rested for the FA cup game, so can see Rashford, Martial starting together.
Nobody's being "rested". That isn't how Jose functions.
He'll be playing all his favourite players for every single match, which is the way it should be.
I remember when we were going for the treble and playing lots of matches. The starting XI were almost identical in every match (usually 1 or 2 changes due to tiredness or injury).
The more a set of players play together and win together, the better the team morale. Which is why it is perplexing that we lost to WBA a few days ago.

Spurs playing midweek too.De GeaSurely Valencia and Matic should be rested - they've played so many games in a row - need a bit of freshness for Saturday (why are we playing Wednesday and Saturday btw??)
Young Bailly Smalling Rojo
Fellaini
McTominay Pogba
Lingard Lukaku Rashford
Anyway... I've put Rojo at LB simply because it seems like Shaw is out of the picture at the moment.
"If I play a player against Bournemouth and the player is phenomenal, he will play in the semi-final, so it is not rotating, because rotating looks like a player that plays against Bournemouth is to give a rest to somebody that is going to play against Spurs in the semi-final."
Sounds like Jose is desperately asking his players to show something
“What is the criteria for a manager to choose a team? I only know one criteria, the way they play. It is the only way I can select players, or do you want me to go for the price they cost, or their salary, or their beautiful face, or... [no], the only way is to go with performance.”
“Consistency has nothing to do with age. It has to do with personality, with the way you live for football, what your priority is in your life, what your ambition is. It has not to do with age,” he replied.
“I met players who are 30 years old, not consistent at all, and I found boys of 18, 19, 20, real men, real pros, so it is not about the age.”
08/09 or 10/11 are definitely more pleasant memories for me than, say, 05/06...Losing the final and it counts for a much as losing all games in the group phase and heading out in shame. Nobody remembers who finishes 2nd.

For the rest of the season i want to see Bailly and Lindelof play together. We need to know if they can get as a pairing, we have nothing left to play for in the league, so give them a shot.
I also want to see Luke Shaw start each of the remaining 5 games. Lets put him in the shop window at least.
Also we should start Rashford on the right for the next 5 games and give McTomminay game time in the league.
For Bournemouth i'd like to see.
DDG
Valencia Bailly Lindelof Shaw
Herrera Mctomminay
Rashford Pogba Sanchez
Lukaku
Nightmare partnership.
Bailly is a madman - to be a top-class CB, he needs a calm, composed CB alongside him with presence and leadership abilities.
Not a single one of those things describe Victor bloody Lindelof.
It'd be the blind leading the blind.
it is close to irrelevant. the success of the season will be hugely influenced on the FA cup.Absolutely unacceptable that some fans say this is irrelevant. This isn't the last season when we couldn't get top 4 and bet everything on the Europa league. This season we are still in the driving seat to finish second. In addition, we don't want the gap between us and City to be any bigger. And we want to finish above Liverpool. If players don't give a sh*t about this, they don't deserve to be here.
Losing this and then somehow lifting yourself up against Spurs won't be easy. I hope Jose's threats to drop players work here. This is almost a must-win game!
The centre back pairing looks a bit shaky but I too want to see how that partnership works. Bournemouth are probably the best opponents to try it against because they don't have any physical strikers and they're a team that generally play on the ground anyway. And Martial instead of Lukaku upfront. I want to see Martial tested upfront and with Rashford on one side and Sanchez on the other they can interchange more freely. For the rest of the season i want to see Bailly and Lindelof play together. It is, but don't want to go into the semi on two bad performances.it is close to irrelevant. the success of the season will be hugely influenced on the FA cup.
Expecting WBA performances in all our remaining games bar a tired Arsenal at Old Trafford. Hoping for a replay of LVG's last moments with us, win the FA Cup unconvincingly and keep playing shit in the league, barely getting CL. Should be possible that SAF and the board might want to make United entertaining again for the Summer.Post Sir Alex it seems that when it rains, it pours.
Bournemouth will win, the teams around us will win and suddenly finishing 4th or higher won't look so secure

Jose is going to rest players. Just like Poch did. The smokescreen excuse is that some of them don't deserve to play after the last performance. I fully expect Pogba to be dropped but appear against Spurs because he trained well despite not playing. Martial will start because Sanchez will also be punished/rested .
