    can someone tell me how can Darmian get so many minutes, hes bloody awful, actually one of the worst buys we made over years one would think we are on newcastle level buying players like him
     
    Job done, Darmian is not good enough to play for United. The talk of Romero being our number one if De Gea leaves is ridiculous too.

    We must be watching a different player. Very occasionally he's shown signs that there may be a competent defender in there; positionally he's ok, holds his line fairly well and can be technically decent.

    In terms of negatives I don't know where to start. Slow, ponderous and weak, markedly bad one on one and offensively one of the poorest fullbacks I've seen for us. He'd need to put in a hell of a shift in the gym to get anything like the physicality and engine we need from a fullback.

    I find the idea of Juventus and Barca taking him in an instant absolutely laughable.
     
    How come zlatan was never snapped up by Sir Alex Ferguson when he left Barcelona for so cheap.

    Contrary to popular belief, we didn't sign Zlatan on a free. He actually cost £103m. Woodward is a genius for managing to slip that under the radar.

    I rest my case. Zlatan guarantees goals, period. He does this every single game and yet people say he somehow holds our team back. We sub on Zlatan, he scores, United wins. It's like clockwork!

    For a no.2 he's been solid. He's saved our defenders here and there and has decent catching, parrying and kicking.

    You can't ask more than that. Look at the other no.2s in the league and around Europe.

    His form has been good relative to his status and chances. That's the context.

    I think You forgot Pogba's impact and Pogba's pass to set up the chance. Which Rashford was missing form midfeild, while rashford too scored form a great service from Mkh.

    Zlatan scores goals i know very well But rashford's movement also aint that bad , he can make the movement zlatan made to set up the goal, While would he finish with that composure is all together a different argument, which i belive zlatan is better at definitely.

    No one belives 'zlatan' holds our team back but as we have direct counter attacking football philosophy in this team playing a slower forward reduces the chances of scoring goals against bus parking teams and teams defending deep, because it compromises the attacking balance in direct counter attacking move like a faster forward like diego costa of chelsea who can stretch the defense on his own and get on one on one with the keeper or the counter attacking move which rashford made for the first goal. Playing a slower forward reduces the effectiveness of the direct counterattacking move like the first goal, and that would explain our lowest goal difference in top 6 and 9 dominating draws, as the counter attacking dynamics do not exist . A faster forward makes the philosophy more complete and improves the attacking balance even further and the whole system becomes more fluid dangerous and a better goal scoring chances which will result in more goals.

    And it does not mean zlatan holds us back , its a tactical point i am making .

    Sure, you have provided a good explanation, but I don't think that Zlatan is not suited for a counter attacking strategy. He has scored the same number of goals as Costa, so why do you think Costa is better (or more suitable) for such a strategy?

    If anything, I would say that Mhkitaryan and Martial need to score more goals. Zlatan is the best player at United right now alongside Mata and Pogba.

    If we started playing Rashford instead of Zlatan I am pretty sure we would score less goals and not more.
