Not gonna be as easy as people think, We've only won away twice this season and ave been very lucky to win those games! All it takes is for DDG to be below par, although that does seem impossible at the moment!

    3-0

Is Villa counter attacks to be afraid of anymore?

Villa usually play a 4-3-3 but they only have two centre mids available (Sanchez and Delph who returned from injury to play 45mins against Albion on the weekend. So they'll probably line up with a front four of N'Zogbia, Weimann, Agbonlahor and Benteke. There's good pace there that could take advantage of our shaky defence and will get chances on the counter attack. It's worth noting Villa have only scored 10 goals all season - the worst in the league.

At the other end, Hutton is suspended because he's picked up a 5th yellow, and he's been a decent player for them lately. Vlaar has been injured and came back for 10 minutes against Albion so he might not be ready to start yet. Okore and Clark are their centre back partnership, and Aly Cissokho of last year's Liverpool side is at left back. They are missing Westwood, Cleverley and Richardson who'd add numbers to their midfield so I think their defence could be got at here.

I wonder if we start the squad rotation for the busy Christmas period already against Villa.
To save you the googling job we play Villa (away) on the 20th, Newcastle (home) on the 26th, Spurs (away) on 28th and Stoke (away) on the 1st of January.

Wayne Rooney's favourite hunting ground. He's scored more goals vs Villa than any other PL team.

I would definitely play Wayne, he has to get into a run of scoring, not being taken in and out of games. Wayne likes to play and his form suffers if he doesn't.

Don't worry hes captain, he'll play. Just depends where he going to play...

We should be able to pick up 3 points from this game. There's a potential for 30 points from 10 games, and am serious about that.

Nice to see the optimism back round here

Good thing is we won't get outplayed in the middle for sure.

Really, really hope Falcao is allowed to use this match as a stepping stone to get back into swing of things.

Strike force of Van Persie, Falcao and Rooney will rival that of Barcelona and Real.

Time to give Lindegaard a run out I reckon. He's not here to pick his nose, after all.

He will definitely start one of Spurs and Newcastle. I guess LvG will start him vs Newcastle as it is home, and retain RvP's form and experience for Spurs game. I don't see us trying the Rooney-Falcao-RvP combo again, so it will again be Falcao on bench I am afraid. At least he will get to start one of the two festive period games and the FA cup game. If he gets goals, it will help everyone.

Hoping AdM is back for Villa as well.

Time to give Falcao a run out, I think.
This. Getting really frustrating seeing him only play 15-20 mins when we've either won the game or on the back foot as they other team is pressing. Unleash El Tigre. How's he going to get match fit if he doesn't ever play?

Jones is a massive bonus to our team. That added steel is needed, plus he can fill in 3 different positions.

Also I definitely feel Falaco should get 60mins and Adran J should start too.

Jones and Carrick looked VERY promising in back 3! Evans needs to go!!

Thought Jones looked awful yesterday, it was his first game back for months. Sterling had him in his pocket first half. Hopefully he can regain match sharpness.

Agree. Sometimes it's forgotten how good he is. Tackling on Sterling was superb.

We will definitely win this so I can see us dropping points.

Should go with the same team unless Di Maria is back in which case he should come in for Wilson. We are too slow in the final third without one of those two in the side so I still think falcao should have to wait until we need to rest RVp before he starts.

Also, Cleverly can't play for them against us.

    Damnit!!!

We should've loaned Villa, Cleverley and Anderson and stipulated that they must both start against us. :)
I think its realistic to expect a straight forward win.
However, things don't always go according plan/form.

Its an away game. Narrow win.

    1-2

I hope that di Maria returns and that Falcao is given a start. That would be awesome, wouldn't it?

Villa are awful. Lambert won't be in a job come the end of the season as they'll be dangerously close to relegation. And they have become a nothing club who need a shock to their system to re-establish themselves. The days of O'Neill's pacy, counter attacking side who regularly got into the top 6 and even were a top 4 threat are a distant memory.

0-4 win for United. Unleash El fecking Tigre.

Villa is awful but football is a funny thing. We havent been convincing away although we won last 2.
Saying all that not beating Villa would be dreadful.

Jones is made of glass...where did you get "steel" from? :p

Do people honestly believe Falcao will start?
The guy is recovering from injury, LvG is not allowing him to play more than 20 minutes and people think he will now start?
Is there any logic to thinking Falcao will start?
    Have I missed something?

And aren't we now committed to playing 3-5-2?
Why are people expecting us to switch to 4 at the back?
    Again, am I missing something?

When did we commit to any formation? We've been changing all season.

Di Maria being back would be lovely as would more minutes for Herrera and some more for Falcao (though RVP and Rooney are firing and Wilson has done himself no harm whatsoever).

I just think after six straight wins we might be in danger of complacency against one of the worst teams in the league. Villa away used to be a guaranteed three points for us but recently we've struggled in games there even if the results have come.

I just hope we go into it with the mindset that it'll be a battle and get on it from the first whistle.

Too much change for me. We need to keep the bulk of players the same. I would rather play Di Maria for Wilson if DM is available. If not Falcao. No other changes. A bit of stability is needed.

For the other games, e.g. spurs, Herrera for Fellaini.

Worst thing we can do is have 3 or 4 changes in one go when we are building some form.

I'd agree if it had been the same XI that had produced this winning streak but the fact is that it's had 2 or 3 different players lining up each game. So it's not as though consistency of players has been the reason for consistency of results.

So I see no reason why we shouldn't follow suit and make changes again. Especially if it gets our squad and injured players back up to speed.

Herrara, Carrick and Di Maria in midfield with Mata, RVP and Rooney up front please. Young at left back and Rafa at right with Jones and Evans/Rojo at center back and lets smash em.
