Don't like this pitch, seems so narrow.Playing like a team that knew they were 6-2 up coming into this game. Not in a terrible way, we were just quite relaxed which is understandable. Nice to score to extend the lead in that half too. I would rest some people now. Probably Cavani, Fernandes and Shaw to start. Pogba too but maybe slightly later in the game. De Gea having a great game today it has to be said.Find it weird how people wax lyrical about 4 "English" teams in European finals, they're not English teams, they're absolutely full of foreigners and the whole club from the owners to the managers to the players. We're in 2nd and he didn't start for large chunks of it. Im as much of a fan of him as the next guy, always have been, but to say we'd be lost without him is ridiculous. You could say the same about a few other players and almost any team struggles to score when you ignore their strikers contribution.
But they are all from the English Premier League, shows the strength of the league (which is definitely noteworthy), not the country.

Saw a recent post where someone asked how many times have we seen Fred create chances that lead to missed goals because of his lack of assists. Normally, Fred is not often in a position to make that final pass that leads to a goal but, he has so often been involved in winning the ball high up the field leading to a goal much like the one with Cavani hitting the crossbar, but, the pass for the goal when on a break is something I think he does quite well - those passes through the gaps/lines are very difficult and often don't come off making it seem like one is pathetic at them, even if it is even the best passers that fail at them.

surely we could have kept Lingard who's equally good at it and twice faster... otherwise he's been really underwhelming. He's lacking pretty much everything. He's got a quick thought and movement but shite passer unfortunately, very slow, weak in tackle, coward with the ball in general. This should be the game he shows he's got the mentality to start for us but we could certainly do better with McTominay with a sheer power than VDB with NOTHING to the table.
Bailly doing Bailly things, some excellent pieces of play but than few half brainfarts, obviously suffering from not playing.
Pogba should just play in advanced role even Fred outplayed him tonight offensively not just defensively, but the brazilian has been quietly superb tonight, winning balls and nice counters, could have had another assist with a brilliant pass for Cavani's bar hit.
Let's not be too lazy Luke, the game is not finished yet. I'd expect HMG or Ole to be more vocal in a game like this cmon it stil has to be played!
DDG - whoever gets him will get a brilliant shotstopper, just not vocal nor proactive enough himself in a game we need it.
Cavani looks a bit like Welbeck on occassions but yeah who cares about his conversion rate when he can get into chances and get one on goal. Hopefully we can keep him for one more year and save some money.
AWB looks proactive so hopefully he keeps that up, a bit unlucky with the yellow even thoughon a second look probably was a bit too reckless.
