With Auba, Saka and Tierney all out, United better turn up and put this right.

OK I didn't know saka and auba were out. If we don't win this we don't deserve anything from this season.
Players out means nothing. Sheffield were missing 9 players the other night.

That Arsenal side has more than enough to soundly beat us.

Negative lineup by sacrificing and attacker against the "big" teams again.

Why are we sticking with a plan that hasn't worked this year? It worked last year but we haven't won a single won of these games this year.

Just play Pogba in the middle like we did versus Liverpool in the cup FFS.
We played Pogba in the middle on Wednesday. He was awful. His better games have been as an attacker.

How many more times must he play Mcfred in the bigger games to see it doesn’t work?

We just lose control of the game. Should be Pogba and Fred, with Greenwood from the right. Or even Donny or Mata there to keep possession better.

Greenwood the attacker sacrificed as usual. Despite the fact he was the best of the 3 that started mid week.

Was also first subbed off that game.

He is never given the benefit of the doubt like the others.

How many more times must he play Mcfred in the bigger games to see it doesn’t work?

We just lose control of the game. Should be Pogba and Fred, with Greenwood from the right. Or even Donny or Mata there to keep possession better.

Err, i think we need them in the big games.

What the feck do some fans watch.

If we don't win this I don't want to see McFred in another big game this year. We haven't won a single one of them as of yet.

Another park the bus, hope for the best masterclass incoming. Hopefully we can somehow win but I am not confident at all.

That's not necessarily their fault alone, is it? It's more down our defensive tactics as to why we often come up short against the bigger sides. Either that or our strikers failing to convert their chances.

In fairness, Rashford is the only one who survived.

Lads have you been watching this season?

I agree it worked last year. But this season we havent bet any of the Big 6 in the league. And we keep sacrificing an attacker to play McFred yet it hasn't worked once.

In the cup we played Pogba in the middle and a normal front 3 and we won.

McFred clearly has not worked in the big games this season.

Don't know wtf yous are going on about "sacrificing an attacker" we are literally a man up when martial isn't playing so if anything we have gained a player.

Exactly, it just doesn't work. Especially with McTominay being completely out of form as he has been for about a month. Pogba and Fred are the two holding midfielders we have that are currently playing well, and they showed only a week ago that they could go toe to toe against Liverpool.

We'll have no balance in attack with either Rashford or Pogba playing a position that they do not play, with a midfield behing them that's incapable of getting them the ball in good positions.

Kieran Tierney Bukayo Saka Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang are out. We've got zero injuries no excuses we have to win.

Don't worry; some on here will find the most ridiculous ones if we somehow manage to lose this game. It was Glazers' & Ed's fault when we lost against Sheffield United at home 3 days ago.

I do agree but Pogba in the middle can be a defensive disaster (saying that, he was defensively phenomenal against Liverpool).

This Arsenal lineup is abysmal, but they looked very hungry and motivated last couple of games. It is very important to start the game focused and composed and cut of all unnecessary mistakes.

Wish we stop playing Fred and McTominay together in double pivot, especially with Scott having average season so far. Pogba was good defensively lately and can add creative spark from the deep. Him and Fred woukd be enough.

It partly is down to them, they are simply too weak to control the midfield. McT cannot pass the ball and Fred is extremely inconsistent. We cannot string a few passes together in the opposition half.

Sure he can be. But the one big game we did it we won this season. In the other 5 or 6 games we played McFred and we haven't won any of them.....

The team that I would have expected for the most part. Shaw and Cavani coming back in after rest was obvious. I wondered if Bailly would get the nod over Lindelof, but he hasn't.

Fred and McTominay always play these games so they are obviously included. I'll be interested to see how we line up at the front with no Martial. Will it be Pogba on the left with Rashford on the right of Cavani? Or more of a 4-2-2-2 with Fernandes and Pogba in between thr two forwards and ahead of Fred/McTominay?

We've gone with our lopsided attacking structure where Pogba will play off the left and Marcus will go to the right.

Sometimes Ole just needs to play players where they are good. Why not move to a proper diamond if he wants to play with a compact center, with VDB instead of Scott or Fred. We will at least have more balance, instead of taking our best players away from their natural positions.

We've played City n Liverpool 4 times this season and lost once.

In the same way that 11 non league players could beat us, yeah, but in reality they are probably their best three players. We should win anyway but now we should have confidence to go there and commit men forward and not just go for the long ball over the top.

Both sides playing 2 defensive midfielders each, cant see a great match.

Hope he’s crap today but I like what I’ve seen from Smith-Rowe

Let's go and smash these. Time to stand up and be counted, need a fast paced start.
