Yeah...I do recall many fans on this forum believe that if we change our formation, we will be transformed into an all conquering unstoppable machine.
The truth is that the formation is almost insignificant and wouldn't make much difference to the score line, unless a game is literally 50-50, for all the 90 minutes.
The biggest factors are attitude of the players, luck, their desire to win the game and the amount of energy they are prepared to expend during the 90 minutes.It was so obvious Pogba wasn't scoring that.
