In Fred, McT, AWB and James - almost half our outfield players lack the technical ability to be playing at this level.

Some days you can carry that with energy, or tactics etc. But tonight - we just can't work with that much inability to actually play football .

    It's genuinely embarassing.

Couple that with Rashford having one of those days where he decides he'd rather not play football and we're in a world of trouble.

All that said, no more Europa league if we lose and I really view that as a net positive.

Its particularly pronounced when we play in Europe.

This is the lethargy you get without squad depth.
More like refusing to use squad depth & running your 11 into the ground. Now Bruno is running on fumes, but Van de Beek has been rotting on the bench all season.

Problem is, who is he going to replace them with in the current squad. The truth that people don't like to be honest about is....we don't need a centre back....we need 2 brand new centre midfielders if we sell Pogba. We can't build up anything because our midfielders are too afraid to recieve the ball in big high tempo games. For now, Matic and VDB are literally our only options and VDB hasn't yet proven to be useful...well this is his chance.

Yeah this team clearly needs a DM & CM if Pogba leaves but if he stays then just a DM in my opinion, however it looks very much like the club think we only need ONE if Pogba leaves which is just mental

It’s a combination. The midfield is the biggest issue but our wide men are truly shocking. Rashford is incredibly wasteful and James is nowhere near the required quality. I feel for Greenwood the most as he gets hung out to dry without getting any opportunities. Looks technically a class above many in our team.
I feel for he, Cavani and even Martial. People blame our strikers when nothing is coming in. They literally feed off of scraps. Running around, headlessly chasing shadows, waiting for someone to give them a reasonable through ball, pass or cross outside of Bruno. Nothing out wide, one through the middle, who has to rush because Fred and Mctominay can't give him easy passes.

Come on rashford and bruno. Step it up second half. Someone with balls needs to step up and win us this game.

Let's play a bit more direct, this tippy tappy stuff isn't for us. Pump balls forward and get Rashford chasing.

we don't have real wide men (think it's now 1,000 times I've said that since SAF retired)

    And here's the trade-off.

You play a guy like James because he can "stretch the play" and "make us dangerous on the counter", but what's the point being dangerous on the counter if the wrong decision is made when you get there?

You can't trust a player because he's fast and then hope he somehow overcomes his lack of ability when it counts. That's the kind of thing that RedCafe slaughters Wolves for regarding Traore.

Seems pretty obvious we played to kill off the first half without incident so that Pogba could come in the second half and finish off Milan.

let’s see if we can actually get it done.

Evidence has been clear since project restart, yet people don't want to see it. We dropped both for Pogba and Matic and looked like a dominant team. Matic has gotten older and Pogba is injury prone, but fixing midfield more than anything else is what will take us where we want.
    I totally agree.
