Liverpool Football Club (nicknamed The Reds) are an English professional football club based in Liverpool, England. Liverpool were originally founded in 1892 as "Everton F.C. and Athletic Grounds Ltd" (Everton Athletic for short), before finalizing on the name Liverpool Football Club and Athletic Grounds Ltd. after a dispute between the Everton FC board and John Houlding, the owner of Everton's former premise at Anfield Road.

Liverpool's forays into competitive football started when they joined the Lancashire League. After winning the league title in their first season, Liverpool were accepted into the Football League for the 1893-94 season, following the resignations of Accrington and Bootle. Liverpool reached its first FA Cup Final in 1914, losing 1–0 to Burnley. It won consecutive League championships in 1922 and 1923, but did not win another trophy until the 1946–47 season, when the club won the First Division for a fifth time under the control of ex-West Ham Utd centre half George Kay.

One of the most successful and storied clubs in the history of European football, Liverpool have won 19 English league titles, 6 European Cups, 8 FA Cups, and 10 League Cups, peaking in the 1970s and 1980s, first under the enigmatic Bill Shankly, and then his Boot Room successors Bob Pailsey, Joe Fagan and Kenny Dalglish. Liverpool have two fierce historic rivals: crosstown club Everton FC (matches between them are termed The Merseyside Derby), and Manchester United (stemming from the success of both teams as well as the cities' competition in the Industrial Revolution of the 19th century).

    Yeah, we’re not winning this.

Going to be a repeat of the 5-0 probably, a lot more likely than the heroics of the FA cup tie.

Let's just take the 3-0 forfeit loss.

Not only is that result good for us, we might not injure any CBs if they don't play

With these weak players and clown coach, it's feeling like Ole again. Might just skip this

    Negativity FC.
Time to throw a spanner in the Scouse works again. A win would be great, a draw will do.

Maguire and Casemiro at the back? Going to get battered anyway.

The Brentford domination and tonight's implosion will massively kill morale before this. This could be another 5+.

Will we have 4 fit defenders.
I suspect an easy win for Liverpool. We cant get away with playing chaotic football again.

Feck all to lose so just go for it. But you can bet your bottom dollar that we’ll concede after the 90th minute.

Most teams coming off a painful loss like tonight will be G’d up for a big game like Liverpool with the chance to ruin their title chances etc. But not this bunch of brainless, spineless, clueless cowards.
This is a comfortable Liverpool win.

Look what we have become. Only motivation we can find is to put a dent in our arch rival's trophy ambitions again.

Comfortable away win. Just hope heads don’t go down too early and we get embarrassed.

This is the most pessimistic I’ve felt going into a game for years.
Agreed. At 3-2 tonight you had that ounce of positivity going into Sunday then we got that ending. Never been so deflated going into a game against them. It won’t be pretty.

This game is in less than 3 days. With players exhausted physically and mentally after this loss, I think it'll be easy win for Liverpool. Just hope there's not another embarassing result. That would be too much.

I think I'll start drinking at about Noon. That way I should be suitably anaesthetised for the game and into the evening.

Well I think we'll be well up for this after fecking up today. Still probably will lose, given they're a much better side, but hopefully we can do one thing right in the league and hurt their title challenge.

    Rashford Bruno Garnacho

Can't even imagine the mindset of the players after the manner of that defeat tonight and have just a three days to get over it.

Klopp and Liverpool will have revenge on their minds for the cup exit and when you add in they'll be up against a patched up injury hit United defence it will be a big surprise if it's not a 2/3 goal margin win for Liverpool.

If we play like the last 2 games we will be annihilated. 0-3 being optimistic

Rashford shouldnt be in the side I would go with Amad.

They won't be as slopy in the final third as they were in the cup. Think they will win easy.

Pretty telling that even at 1-1 tonight Klopp subbed off Salah and Szoboszlai early. Liverpool totally lost all composure when those two went off in the cup game so he'll be keeping them on for much longer in the league match.

Hard to see Liverpool not scoring at least three in this as you're down to your last four fit defenders at the club as you'd assume with the quick turnaround Varane and Evans won't be available.

    1-3.

Thought they might have rested a few players vs Sheffield United but apparently they didn't. Hard to be optimistic when we only have one fit centre back but then everyone was doom and gloom about our chances in the FA Cup and look how that turned out.
