Association Football Club Bournemouth (nicknamed The Cherries and Boscombe) is a professional football club based in Bournemouth, Dorset. The exact date of the club's foundation is not known, but there is proof that it was formed as Bascombe FC in the autumn of 1899 out of the remains of the older Boscombe St. John's Lads’ Institute FC. Nicknamed The Cherries (Dean Court was built adjacent to the Cooper-Dean estate, which encompassed numerous cherry orchards), the team traditionally played in red shirts with white sleeves until 1971, when the strip was changed to red and black stripes, similar to that of AC Milan. The club was renamed in 1923 to Bournemouth and Boscombe Athletic F.C. in 1923, which was the name until 1972, when it becomes A.F.C. Bournemouth.

Bournemouth have won the second and third tiers of English football, and were twice runners-up of the fourth tier. They have also won the Football League Trophy, and the Football League Third Division South Cup. Bournemouth have spent the majority of their history bouncing between the third and fourth tier of English football. Under manager Eddie Howe, they have risen through the pyramid; the 2015–16 season was Bournemouth's first ever in England's top division. Bournemouth's biggest rivals are Brighton & Hove Albion, Reading FC and Southampton FC. They play their home games at Dean Court, Bournemouth — currently known as the Vitality Stadium.

3 away wins is all well and good but can we make it 4? This will be Ole's first real test.

Hope the injuries to Maguire, Lindelof and Rashy aren't bad :nervous:

Need to keep this momentum going as we have 3 away wins in a row but only 1 in the league, would be a kick in the teeth to drop points here. 1-2 United

1-2. The first time in a while I believe we will score more than one goal. Just hope Ole goes with four at the back.

    Early kick off
    Jeez.
Only 2 days rest. Might be our downfall against a fresh Bournemouth side.

Very important 3 points. We're on form at the moment and we usually do well on their pitch.

I think this game should suit us well too. Hopefully we can keep the form going. Since the international break we have played well even if we sadly gave away 2 points against Liverpool.

The early kick off is irritating especially with the knocks we've picked up. I hope Axel is back fit

Seems a bit odd for us to have the latest midweek game and then the earliest one the following weekend

We're going to need to play more or less the same team as tonight since that's all we've got, so I'll be very pleased if this isn't a leggy performance considering it's basically only 2 days rest.

    2-1 Loss

Bournemouth will bring us back down to earth

Back up to 5th, quarter final of a cup. Things start to look much better.

It will be a tough game considering we'll only have two days rest, and Bournemouth are relatively fresh. Having said that, they are struggling for goals as of late, having not scored in the last 3 games, but have kept a couple of clean sheets as well.

Hate this feeling before games these days, especially now when we're on a run. Still feel the confidence in the team is so brittle, and one bad result has the potential to really pop our bubble. Going to tentitevly go with a 1-1 draw here, and get back to OT for our games against Partizan and Brighton.

Thank god for the international break, it was a real low point after the Newcastle game. Things seeming slightly more positive now.

This game may just come a little too early for us, given the small squad and the lack of rest.

Really hoping we can pull off a sneaky win but even a draw might not be such a bad result. Just hope we don't lose cause that'll be such a momentum crusher.

We're in form, but the squad is knackered, and the PL doesn't forgive that. Barring Martial and Pereira, everyone will be tired. I am worried about Maguire, AWB, Rashford, James and McT in particular. They need a rest.

Hope we get early goals and then watch the game out, because we will struggle if we have to chase an equalizer/winner with 20 minutes left on the clock.

Excited about this one now, after a year of dreading most games, especially away.

I want to see more of Martial and Rashford up front.

I think we will have chances as they play on open game. 3-1 to us.

It’s the same amount of rest as last week after EL and we’re not travelling back from Belgrade so not sure why everyone is fretting over tiredness.

If fit, I would say the team will be very close to the one that finished at Chelsea, De Gea for Romero and Rashford for Williams would be the only definite changes, possibly Lindelof for Rojo. Think we'll go back to 4-3-3, where we looked much better on Sunday. Hopefully Tuanzebe is fit, and comes back on the bench, and would love to see Garner getting more minutes.

    De Gea
    AWB--Lindelof--Maguire--Young
    McTominay--Fred
    James--Pereira--Rashford
    Martial

Subs: Romero; Rojo, Williams; Garner, Mata, Lingard; Greenwood

Maguire, Lindelof and Rashford's selection is depending on injuries. If Rash is unfit then switch to a 3-5-2.

We seriously need to win this and keep up the momentum. Bournemouth haven't won in the last five.

Our next games are Bournemouth (A), Partizan (H), Brighton (H), Sheffield Utd (H), Astana (A) and Aston Villa (H). This is a great opportunity to string some results together, edge closer to the top four and hopefully bring a few players back from injury.

    Let's go!

Confidence is back. We'll smash these. A beating is coming for someone.

Dont know about Lindelof but here is a direct quote from Ole

    Fingers crossed

Worst case scenario we'd be looking at this

    -----------De Gea-----------
    AWB---Jones---Rojo---Young
    ---McTominay---Fred---
    Lingard----Andreas----James
    -----------Martial-----------

The Rojones bandwagon back together

We won't win this. I just know they'll score a flukey goal against us and shut up shop for 70 minutes.

Come on United, prove me wrong!
