West Bromwich Albion Football Club (nicknamed West Brom, The Baggies, The Throstles, Albion or simply WBA), are a professional football club based in West Bromwich, West Midlands. The club that became West Bromwich Albion was formed in 1878 by a group of young workers at the George Salter Springs factory, appropriate for a club whose terrace celebration would more than a century later become "boing boing". They were renamed West Bromwich Albion in 1880, becoming the first team to adopt the Albion suffix. Just eight years after forming, in 1886 they became the first team from the Midlands to reach an FA Cup final, losing in a replay to Blackburn Rovers. Albion were also among the inaugural 12 members of the Football League in 1888, winning our first game, 2-0 at Stoke's Victoria Ground.

All in all they have one League title win, 5 FA Cup wins, and one League Cup win to their name. Even though West Brom have spent the majority of their history in the top-flight of English football, when the FA Premier League was founded in 1992 the club found themselves in the third tier, and have negotiated periodic relegation-promotion oscillations to the Premier League ever since. West Brom play their homes games at The Hawthorns, and have long-standing rivalries with Aston Villa and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

I hope Jose gives us licence to just go out there and enjoy our football - coz it could be a cricket score if that's the case:

    --------------DDG----------------
    Valencia--Smalling--Lindelof---Young
    ------------Matic---------------
    ----Herrera---------Pogba
    Sanchez---------------------Rashford
    -------------Lukaku---------------------

SUBS - McTominay (Matic), Martial (Rashford), Mata (Herrera)

    Man United 3 - 0 West Brom
    Rashford, Lukaku, Martial.

Think we'll be back to the usual 4-2-3-1. Should be the easiest of our remaining games.

    DDG
    Valencia - Smalling - Lindelof - Young
    Pogba - Matic
    Mata - Lingard - Sanchez
    Lukaku

    3-0

    De Gea
    Valencia Bailly Smalling Young
    Herrera Matic Pogba
    Rashford Lukaku Sanchez

Just play the midfield 3 against everyone. Herrera needs to play and get some consistency in system. Would only change Rashford in for Lingard who I don't think suits it too much, but that's fine.

    Team should be...

    ---------------De Gea---------------
    Valencia--Bailly--Smalling--Young
    ----------Matic-------Pogba----------
    Mata----------Lingard----------Sánchez
    ---------------Lukaku---------------

Subs: Pereira, Lindelof, Fellaini, Herrera, McTominay, Martial, Rashford

Two more wins (basically) to secure top four.

    West Brom up next.

4-2-3-1 is OK for these home games. No need for 3 midfielders at home against relagation teams. I'd like to see:

    DDG
    Valencia Bailly Smalling Shaw
    Herrera Pogba
    Mata Lingard Martial
    Rashford

Rest a few players like Lukaku and Matic who have played non stop. We don't need them to beat a shite West Brom team. Their backline is slow and old so let's go with all our pace and tear them apart.

I'd say go strong for this then rest some players away to Bournemouth in midweek. The Spurs game is far more important - and Spurs get an extra 24 hours rest as their game against Brighton is on the Tuesday while ours against Bournemouth is on the Wednesday.

Think Jose said only Romero is missing? Pretty astonishing. We could easily rotate across the games as you suggest.

Yeah, we could go something like:

    West Brom:
    De Gea
    Valencia Bailly Smalling Young
    Matic Pogba
    Mata Lingard Sanchez
    Lukaku
    Bournemouth:
    De Gea
    Darmian Lindelof Rojo Shaw
    McTominay
    Herrera Fellaini
    Lingard Rashford Martial
    Spurs:
    De Gea
    Valencia Bailly Smalling Young
    Matic
    Herrera Pogba
    Rashford/Lingard Lukaku Sanchez
Bournemouth game could potentially be a disaster but I'd rather see us rest most of our team for that game and if we do beat West Brom then second place is pretty much sewn up anyway.

Maybe Joel gets a game? But yeah, those seem like good and relatively strong teams.

What was the result of the reverse fixture?
For some reason, my memory is blank.

Hopefully we won't go back to 4-2-3-1 and drop Herrera, and I also think Mata will get a game.

I would love to see Gomes and Chong feature in the remaining Premier League games. The FA Cup game against Spurs is our biggest game now. It would be nice to see how Chong-Gomes do.

Our form for last 5 games is amazing considering we played Chelsea city and pool

Mourinho will play a strong side. He really wants 2nd place. Same side as against city.

Would love to see us carry on from City and get a nice amount of goals. Expect it to be more like the Swansea game though, in both performance and result.

    2-0 (Lukaku, Pogba)

Not sure why we would bother about league games now. Top 4 is done, no difference between 2nd and 4th. Cup semi final against Spurs is our season. We should select Romero, Daley Blind, Angel Gomes, etc in this game and still expect to win comfortably. We won’t though, hope we get through without injuries.

Disagree. Ending the season 2nd ahead of everyone else bar City will give the players and team a big moral boost entering next season, much better than finishing 4th and looking look as if we scrapped 4th.

About time to tonk a PL team 5:0.

I went with 4-0, though I do believe this could be the game we absolutely hammer a team into oblivion.
Players now know that even with a 2 goal headstart we can't be beaten, so this should result in our attackers playing without the shackles.

On a side note: I have supported MUFC for decades.
SAF spoilt us, with his legendary ability to manage this football club. He is the best manager in club football and I've not seen anything else which comes close.
Since he left, we hired Moyes, who was terrible. He was so bad, words cannot do justice.
We then moved onto LVG, who brought a brand of football which required us to make 42 passes before shooting at goal. The football was boring the results were not good.
After 3 years (why did it take us 3 years to hire him?), Jose joined and won 2 trophies immediately - which was fantastic, but the EPL title. That's the one we want.
This season, the team is on course to score as many points as would be required to win a title, in most other seasons. MCFC though, have been outstanding.
And now, we are at a point where we are making near impossible comebacks to win games. If the CP, CFC and MCFC games were all in a movie, the viewers would not believe it. They'd think it's too over the top and silly.

The excitement is back and for those of you who think that this is not entertaining, I suggest you watch a different sport.
IMO, for sheer excitement, MUFC is the only team to watch and are the in-form team in the league.

    Man United 3 - 0 West Brom
    Rashford, Lukaku, Martial.

A cricket score like 3-0, you talking matches of a 5 game series? Lol

This should be an easy game on paper...

Do we give Martial, Rashford, Mata starts? Or keep the winning team.

Easy opposition, so you gotta play Martial. Him, Mata and Alexis behind RedRom. Work it out.

Hopefully, we carry forward the momentum. Baggies deserve a nice thrashing, but a 2 or 3 goal win will do.

I had a look at a West Brom forum and they’re basically looking forward to being relegated, weird attitude to have.

Nonsense. It's important to end the season well and it's not like we need to rest players because of too many games. Play the best team.

I know a few West Brom fans, and I think they all still retain that yo-yo mentality, where they'd have lots of fun being the top-dogs in the lower division, and then suffer through the inevitable poor run the season after; rinse and repeat.

Would be nice to go and hammer them. Would like to see martial start this one.
