"We had a young boy get in the England Under-21s," he added.

"His agent phoned up the next day and said, 'I think it's time we sat down for a new contract for the boy'.

"In his mind he thought that demanded a new contract. I said, 'Let's see how he plays for Manchester United'.

"But that's the way the world is now. When you think they (agents) are conducting most transfers now, it's not right."

Any ideas who this is ?

If it's someone still at the club..could be Heaton, Welbeck or Cleverley.

Given that he uses the past tense it's obvious that the player no longer plays for the club

The past tense is used with respect to getting a first call into the England U21 side - which did indeed happen in the past.
