This might have been done before, then again it might not.

The point is to pick your favourite character from a book, film, TV show etc. Not the actor playing the character but the character itself.

Let`s say that you have to rate them in a MOM style top three...

Mine:

1. Ari Gold - Entourage

2. Omar Little - The Wire

3. Lt. Speirs - Band of Brothers.

1) Commander Vimes - Terry Pratchetts Discworld books
2) Omar Little - The Wire
3) Lt. Speirs - Band of Brothers

feck sake this was hard. Ari Gold is a good shout. Other ones I like are Heath Ledgers Joker, Godfather in Generation Kill, Sgt. Brad Colbert in same and so on and so on.

Stringer Bell from The Wire, Shawn Spencer from Psych, Desmond Hume from Lost just misses out.

There are so many but here at the first that come into my head.

1. Dexter Morgan - Dexter

2. Chief Wiggum - Simpsons

Dr. Greg House from House M.D, Charlie Day from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Vic Mackey from The Shield, Dexter Morgan from Dexter and Steve Carrell as Michael Scott in The Office. Ricky Gervais in the UK version of The Office is hilarious as well.

There are plenty more. Most of The Wire characters were something special.

There are quite a few characters which I think are brilliant in their own ways. Dr. Greg House from House M.D, Charlie Day from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Dexter Morgan from Dexter and Steve Carrell as Michael Scott in The Office is hilarious. Just like Ricky Gervais in the UK version. Then of course there is the legend that is Jack Bauer in the legendary 24.

Good shouts on Bauer and House.

 at Rufio!

I did not try to routinely impress my little brother by sliding down the stairs, while he shouted Ru Fi OOOoooooooo.

We did not nearly cry when Hook stabbed him through the chest either. Honestly... :(

He was a brave little character, but it was just a bit surprising seeing him in this thread.

I'm shite at doing the photos on these things so I'll just list them but mine aren't in any particular order and I have more than just three:

1) Tony DiNozzo (NCIS)
2) Jethro Gibbs (NCIS)
3) John Abruzzi (Prison Break) - why did he have to go? :(
4) Spike (Buffy The Vampire Slayer)
5) John McClane (Die Hard)
6) Rocky Balboa
