Unfortunately, the 40 year old Ronaldo is still better than Hojlund...
It'll definitely happen. Unless he gets a serious injury. It can't happen surely, can it?
Yes, agreed. I'm not a fan of the guy at all, but credit where credit is due.Whatever you say about his game, you have to admire the man's determination and the fact he's still in such great physical shape at this age.
Hilarious. They took the lead one minute after he left the pitch![]()
True. 1000+ goals, most CL goals ever and he's surely hoping that ideally Portugal can win the WC next year so he can be a WC winner like Messi. All that + he'll be claiming (like some people do) that Messi won at least a couple of more Ballon d'Ors than he deserved. Think all that combined will be enough for Ronaldo's ego to be satisfied and to claim he's the actual GOAT.Oh it’s going to happen. This is the only thing that is driving him now and he will have persuaded himself that that is what will finally beat Messi.
I think he needs this now, and he has the perfect situation to do it in.
Extremely disingenuous post. I’m far from a Ronaldo fanboy (will never deify a player or understand why some football fans choose to do so), but this entire post in an imbalanced, agenda-driven one.Well their choice of managers have everything to do with Ronaldo that's why they went with a wimpy yes man like Martinez instead of someone with a strong personality like Luis Enrique.
Fernando Santos was sacked cause he dared to bench Ronaldo in the last world cup otherwise he would have continued cause he achieved the minimum goal that was asked of him but hey gotta keep Ronaldo happy.
They want to continue to milk the cash cow that Ronaldo has been for the Portuguese FA for as long as possible so they will continue to apoint coaches who are basically puppets.
The best Portugal has played in recent years was during the group stages when they ended up wining it. They played the group stages without Ronaldo and the team flow was much better, the link up play much fluid, you could see that the players felt more free cause they didn't need to constantly look to pass the ball to Ronaldo with fear that he would threw a tantrum if they didn't.
Their best game in a major tournament in recent years was the 7-1 win over Switzerland also without Ronaldo and with Ramos scoring 3.
In the last euro I think it was against Turkey where Portugal scored a goal and he was still pissed that the player who scored didn't pass him the ball.
Or who can forget the game in the last world cup where Bruno put in a cross and Ronaldo jumped but didn't touched the ball and the goal was awarded to Bruno. At the end Portugal won the game and Ronaldo was still angry and arguing with the ref cause the goal wasn't given to him. One of the most pathetic displays I've ever seen.
Ronaldo has been very important to Portugal but right now he's more of a problem than a solution. It's time to go.
you mean the man going around bars in Miami asking if they have lays chips, and if not, leaving?Playing ability aside - It's this kind of thing that will always put him below his rival. You'd never see Messi doing anything like this - it's just so cringey.
Huh. Hadn't actually seen that before.you mean the man going around bars in Miami asking if they have lays chips, and if not, leaving?
What’s to enjoy at this stage? There’s nothing exciting at all about watching him, now.Just happy we get to enjoy his final year or two as there will never be another like him
I think he'll retire as soon as he's scored 1000 goals.I got to watch the Portugal Denmark match at the stadium on Sunday and despite his goal, Ronaldo's really did stink out the place. It really is a pity that this Portugal team needs to carry him because the manager doesn't have the balls to drop him. His pressing was non-existent, his touch was awful, his passes were often misplaced, he couldn't dribble and kept running into players, his aerial ability (which he excels at) was missing, and even his finishing was poor. Apart from the penalty, he missed another good chance. He did manage to score a relative tap in but Portugal were significantly better once he went off and a competent and functional striker in Ramos on the pitch. I've never been a fan of Ronaldo but I was still excited to get to see him play live but unfortunately, he's 40 and it really shows. He also spends more time playing cheerleader and getting the crowd worked up than actually playing any football.
Bruno, on the other hand, is absolutely everywhere and has fantastic work rate!
I hope so.I think he'll retire as soon as he's scored 1000 goals.
That thumbnail is bloody terrifyingmummy im scared
