It would be great if they put in one of those massive interactive Dome screens they have by the SoFi to show matches on away days.
fairI think it's more to do with the fact that the younger guys have only known the stadium as it basically is now, us older folks remember it when it looked nothing like it does now, what we might have been nostalgic about is long gone and has been for decades
Jaysus. Pre fabrication comes with a host of issues, mainly mould and water protection issues during construction
If Google’s billion pound office in London had similar issues then be hard to argue that this won’t too.
In fact, they’re claiming this to be environmentally friendly, but there’s surely concerns about its longevity in general no? It won’t last the same amount of time that Old Trafford did without constant expensive maintenance, something we neglected before - but even more needed with fecking solar membranes and rainwater harvesting.
It’ll probably be in disrepair in 75 years, meaning a new wave of construction, and meaning more carbon in the atmosphere. Gimmicks like that umbrella tent thing are common in parts of the world that generally don’t give a feck about sustainability.
I mean you wouldn’t really imagine any new modern stadium having a 75 year shelf life without major upgrades anyway. Even Old Trafford had a lot of work done across 75 years.Jaysus. Pre fabrication comes with a host of issues, mainly mould and water protection issues during construction

Dumb postDumb post.
These takes are just so dumb.
But will there be a cheese room?

Glad you agree, your post was pretty stupid innitDumb post
Will you give me a green smiley if I say yes?Is this a Dalot crossing reference?

If its 75 years until a new wave of contruction is needed then it would have out lasted Old Trafford.Jaysus. Pre fabrication comes with a host of issues, mainly mould and water protection issues during construction

I don't think it would be hard to get investorsIt’s a great idea and the concept art looks impressive but I’d take it with a pinch of salt. It’s probably another Glazer distraction tactic, where the hell would we get the funds from for a start?

Dumb post
I'm pointing out stupid posts, not posts I just disagree with

Read this and think again:It’s a great idea and the concept art looks impressive but I’d take it with a pinch of salt. It’s probably another Glazer distraction tactic, where the hell would we get the funds from for a start?
Stadium designs always seem divisive, as I've seen some people here laud some of the ugliest looking buildings around while condemning buildings others think look nice.
So the main thing I wanted from a stadium design is that it doesn't look generic. And tbf whatever people think of that design, you can't really claim it's generic. It will be instantly recognisable and distinguishable from pretty much any other major stadium I can think of.
Christ on a bike.
We aspire to your level of posting. Eejit.
I don't think it would be hard to get investors
Well you sure showed me with that razor sharp wit.
Building a new state of the art stadium. Doesn't get more embarrassing than that.fecking embarrassing. FC United still about?
The Wembley comparison isn’t really a positive. The Wembley of the North. 100k seater. This will surely makes us the biggest football club in England. Up there with the likes of Camp Nou and Bernabeu. Very exciting news.
Well according to a statement by The 1958 it does look generic.
I saw somewhere the pitch is supposedly 15ft (maybe metres) below ground level. I assumed they were therefore replacing the death drop with walls with spikes on at the side of the pitch, with the supporters watching on colosseum style. Not sure if anyone's raised this but my first thought is are they taking away the death drop ditches on the on the side of the pitch?![]()
It's the comparison because it's the national stadium, the biggest in the UK and is used for most big events. The new OT is going to eclipse it in every way.The Wembley comparison isn’t really a positive.
It’s expensive, facilities inside the stadium are poor and it’s hell trying to get away after a match.
Plenty of retail investors would invest in the stadium build providing the rate of return is good enoughWho other than Arab State Investment funds is going to be interested in investing big money in our club at this moment? We are are in the bottom half of the Premier League and looking unlikely to have European football for the foreseeable future so anyone who does invest wont see any return on that for a very long time.
