“We intend to uphold traditions and it’s essential that it still feels like Old Trafford, feels like home. That’s why we will be keeping one of Old Trafford’s most iconic features, the pitch side slope”

It’s brilliant.

Have to say watching Ratcliffes interview yesterday gave me a bit of hope. He’s not perfect but he’s better than the Glazers.
If anything it showed once again what utter scum they are.

To be honest, I don’t care as much about a new stadium as I do getting recruitment right, but the signs from last summer are good in that department.

Would love if the Glazers majority was gone in 5 years and I could visit this amazing stadium.

I can understand why this is splitting opinion, but modernization is needed, not just for this but in the whole of the UK generally, everything is built too safe to cater for all tastes, look at how China does things, modern, fresh, laced with tech and forward thinking

It’s strange that have all these statements from anyone and everyone regarding the new stadium apart form the majority owners of the club.

I think the exterior takes a bit of getting used to but it all looks very impressive, how likely it is to all come to fruition I am not sure.

I've gone from immediately hating it to liking a fair bit of it.

Just those bloody towers.

If they names the towers after Charlton, Law and Best I reckon I could be won over

Visually looks amazing judging by those pictures. Really impressive indeed. Although just hope we have a team on the pitch that is just as good.

I think it looks ok - certainly for a day out it'll be a total draw for tourists like me.

But probably a missed chance to do something which doesn't look like a middle eastern circus. Where's the modern-retro interpretation?

Unique, maintains closer to pitch heritage that a lot of new stadiums are moving away from and a lot of coverage from the rain to ensure a comfortable experience. Also I like the lighting with the red hue.

I hope they don't get rid of the tent as part cost cutting because underneath it is just a generic flying saucer looking stadium.

The cover comes out a long way and it looks like it'll be a great place to mill around before kick off, get a drink/food etc.

I was against this but I'm starting to get excited now...

 might as well keep the leaking roof as well

Very glad it doesn't just look like every new stadium copy and pasted nowadays. Few complaints here on that devil trident inspired tent, but I'm glad it's there

No chance. I can't see how they build massive pre-fabricated stadium parts and then sail them down the Ship Canal. How do you transport the thing to the canal side in the first place?
It's a ship canal. You'd build them somewhere they can come in by sea. I don't know which firms can already fabricate the parts or whether they could be done by a shipyard that fancies diversifying even.

I doubt the logistics are impossible though - though the cost of making it possible might turn out to be. I suspect it's easier than building in a landlocked city centre though. I'm guessing we'll hear more from Peel Holdings etc if the canal infrastructure is going to need work.

I will be sold on this design if the first official users of the "viewing platform" on the central spire turn out to be the Glazers. Once they have taken their seats ahead of the opening game, Bryan Robson then runs out into the centre circle and presses a big red button.

A massive rumbling noise is heard and the "viewing platform" is released by huge clamps as the rocket engine blasts the viewing platform up the spire and then on...on...on to slip the surly bonds of the earth!

The Stadium's Jumbotron screen shows a live feed from the interior of the platform showing the Glazers mixture of emotions from pride...to surprise....to fear....to terror....to gasping for air....to becoming frozen meat-sicles bobbing around in microgravity.

Yes....I could even get over a name change for the stadium if that happened!

I like how it looks like a foreign open stadium from inside with no solid roof covering, just the glass cover instead.

Ticket prices will be insane

I haven’t seen anywhere it’s planned to be built, anyone know the location?

We simply have to win another title before we leave our current stadium. That has to be the aim, 2028 was unrealistic given how badly they started but 5-6 years is surely achievable.

Surprised they didn't try stick another 5k seats in so they can call it the biggest in Europe

Imagine if we could lift the trophy in our final ever game at Old Trafford.

Isnt the glass enough?

It does look like a temple from 4000AD to worship our new alien overlords (possibly related to the Glazers in fairness), and I’m mildly annoyed they’ve given oppo fans the ammunition of it looking like a circus tent too after 10 years of nonstop ammo for them, but it might look alright in person.

It looks good inside with the massive walls of seating. Much prefer that to Spurs and Arse stadiums with the waves at the top.

The externals look very much like they’re catered to being an event space, which is no doubt needed in this day and age.

I can’t help but think it could have looked better, but maybe it’ll grow on me more.

The thing I like most about it so far is just how much it will enrage opposition fans. Its an enormous scale of structure and ambition and like all good architecture or creativity, should probably split opinion. If we were moving from Old Trafford to something like the emirates id be very disappointed. You cant leave a stadium with so much history for something generic and this certainly isnt that.

I like the plans and ambition, but I think it'll take a lot longer than 5 years.
Why? That's a very long time period to build a stadium. Wembley, Spurs' and the Emirates took much less time

Can imagine the only delay from this point is the financing
