Television White Lotus

What do we reckon will happen with the big lady from season 1? Seems like the hotel company has some ulterior motive

Obviously she recognises your man which will also advance that part of the story as well

Seen some comments about the other seasons being a slow burner, but nothing seems to really be developing bar the Jason Isaacs story. Seems his part is about to explode which is intriguing.

Yeah, quite an underwhelming episode. Was expecting a bit more after a few slow but good opening episodes.

Halfway after next episode, so hopefully things will kick off next week.

Episode 3 was weak, but episode 2 was excellent and first one was good too. I still expect it to be an excellent season.

You think ?

Season 2 was very good, but 3 seems pretty average so far. Its hard to tell where the story is and we're already one episode from being halfway done with the season.
Funny, exact opposite for me and my wife. Obviously Jennifer Coolidge was great but other than that season 2 wasn't really comedy at all.

Love the characters in the third season and think it's really funny. But then again, I'm a simple man and laughed out loud at Sawadi Crap.

Agree about Severence but also agree that the quality of this season is lower so far.

I’m hoping the writers are taking advantage of the reputation the show has built and are just taking a few liberties in opting for a slower build up and they have some tricks up their sleeves for second half of the season. If it plays out much the same as the others I think it will disappoint, it needs something fresh.

My wife and I are also enjoying this season more than season 2

Its been excellent so far

It’s hard to think back to early episodes of previous seasons because you tend to remember them as a whole. And they all took a while to build up a head of steam. There was never any rush to advance the narrative. I just love the whole atmosphere and vibe. So I’m more than happy to settle in for the long haul and judge the season as a whole when I’ve actually finished watching it.

Finally got round to watching S1 and S2 of this show. Thought it was meant to be some all-time great show? S1 watchable, S2 meh with a decent finale. Absolutely nothing groundbreaking. Music is the best part.

New season e01 was decent intro, but E02 was pretty average.

Also, is Greg really Greg? Doesn't look like same actor at all.

Aimee is again playing the same stupid character like she did in Sex Education, but this time it's not working, IMO.

Goggin's voice has a lovely ASMR-ish timbre to it.

Largely vacuous episode. Junior Arnie's a pretty decent actor - some mildly redeeming moments for his character this episode.

I haven't seen this week's episode yet, but season 1 was six episodes and season 2 was seven episodes. Season 2 is eight episodes. Maybe that's why it's more... stretched?

Four episodes in and it's very clearly the least compelling season of the three. There's slow burn and then there's this.

To think, season one only had six episodes and it was absolute brilliance.

When were they?

Good episode I thought. Tension building nicely.

So they're really telegraphing that the guy Rick thinks murdered his Dad is actually going to be his Dad and his mum lied to him on her death bed.

Also similarly telegraphing Malfoy killing himself/his family with the stolen gun from Gaitok (the cretin).

I hope at least one of those is a red herring.

Also interested to see what happens now that Belinda has recognised Greg.

First season without massive boobs though so maybe that explains the lower ratings.

Its definitely the writing and casting. It was noticeably better in 1 & 2. In fact, 2 was so good that there was always going to be a bit of a let down if they attempted a season 3. Also worth noting that Jennifer Coolidge sort of drove the quirky narrative of the show. Now that she's gone, there's definitely a void.

Okay this season is not very good.

Previous seasons had very well scripted characters and family / relationship dynamics but this time they're just being lazy with it. Same patterns keep repeating.
Goggings is always frustrated, Greg grumpy, the manc chick is goofy, the three friends take turns in shit talking, lil'arnie is a horny scumbag etc etc.

Also, Belinda seems like a watered down version of herself from season 1.

There's some good stuff as well so I hope the latter half of the season picks up.

Another episode with not a lot happening again. Seems very slow compared to previous seasons. Also could Belinda make it any more obvious she recognises Greg.
Yeah , that "Hey aren't you Greg from Hawaii?" really gave it away a bit

I mean, let's be clear, this isn't highbrow television by any stretch. More like a reasonably talented, slightly up himself persons view of what great direction looks like.
