Good article on him here.

Strong, quick, good on the ball. Left footed central defender who is very composed and adept at passing through the lines. Still only 21 and started football late, so loads of room for improvement. I can think of at least one big club who could find a spot for him in their squad.

Is he destined for bigger things?

He’s also very mature for his age with a great attitude. He’s also a good man marker too. I’ve no doubt there will be interest in the summer but they’ll have to dig deep, he’s on a 6 year contract. His only weakness is his heading - needs a tall CB next to him.

The rumours I’ve heard is he could be on Liverpools radar.

Looking great for Forest and I think he’ll get a move to a bigger club already this summer. Just wish he was a couple of centimeters taller!

He is. Id love it if we could do a deal for a player like him to compete with Martinez

Caught my eye a couple of weeks back where he seemed very comfortable on the ball, both with his passing and carrying the ball into the midfield and progressing play that way. Surprised he's this young and it looks like he could become a very good centre back.

I know a Forest fan who thinks he will go on to much bigger things. City were apparently looking at him

So looks like this lad is a big factor in Forest reaching the giddy heights of 3rd place. I wonder why a big club hasn’t been sniffing around yet?
They have. Forest were quoting Harry Maguire money during the summer.

I’d love for us to be in for him.

He’s a beast and only 22.

You’d imagine though they’ll be a bidding war for him in the Summer

We had a very serious look at him last summer apparently, came close to putting a bid in, and then decided against it. But I saw us linked again recently.

Just not sure signing another left footer makes much sense when we have Colwill on that side.

Would be a great upgrade on Martinez. Just as good on the ball while being quicker and stronger.

No thanks to the other 2, but Murillo yes!
Are you mad? Gibbs-White would be perfect as one of our #10s, a hell of an upgrade on Bruno.

Anyway, there's no chance we can afford Murillo. Their back up for him, Morato, is also great and completely unknown (and played on the left of a back three today) so we'd be better going in for him.

Because they want like £70M for him.

What does 'serious look' and 'came close' to making a bid actually mean? Sounds like the old story of United 'monitoring' players.

If I recall correctly I think some of the very reliable reporters were saying that he was someone we really wanted and that a bid could be imminent towards the end of the last window. But then Forest wanted £50m for him so it never happened.

That might be a bargain at this point. They’ll surely want VVD/Maguire/Wesley Fofana money for him next summer. Which I don’t think Chelsea will go near. We need a right sided CB.

He is a really good talent, I'm not sure he will be any different in value to Branthwaite.

Hopefully our scouts can help us dip more into the South American market and find us a gem like him for £15-20m.

Every time I've seen him he seem to always be cramping and can barely keep up with the speed of opposition attacks. I'm surprised people here say he's fast. He looks a stone too heavy to me.

But decent player.

I wish United could target and sign Hato. He'd sort out left wing back and left center back all at the same time.
I’m sure he’d be gettable at the right price? Arsenal were sniffing around before they signed Calafiori from memory and the player wont stay in Holland for long.

Edit. Apparently there’s suggestion he is leaving in the summer from The Athletic.

Im guessing you didnt see the burst he made yesterday from around Forest 25 yard line, annihilating for pace every player that tried to catch him, if he was playing Sunday league would probably have made it all the way to the opposition goal wihout anyone getting hear him. His pace is deceptive as he is a "bulky" player

My thought too. It's such a caf quality to moan constantly about the things our players aren't good at but immediately take for granted and massively underrate their strengths. Martinez is one of the best CBs on the ball in world football. He's unpressable. He passes like a 'regista'. He's one of the first names on the team sheet for Argentina.

Dont have any problem understanding that some people feel that his lack of pace or «power» might be an issue. But with three at the back, we really need a CB (or probably two!) that are as good on the ball as a midfielder. If not, we will be looking like we did under van Gaal really quick.

I hope we can bring in an athlethic CB soon that can compensate for Martinez (Branthwaite or Diomande?). That should be easier than to find someone as good as Martinez on the ball.

I believe he would be. I do hope we get interested. Meanwhile just Imagine what business a club would accomplish if they snatched Diomande and Hato in the same Summer

Truth be told is right now Martinez is seminngly struggling strictly because he is still mastering the distances of defending in a 3. Its the same issue Dalot has been facing especially on the left. Both keep reacting like they are in their prior back 4 roles. (Dalot it's even in attack too). With time they will both adjust and United will be better for it.
