Yes. The only way Glazers would ever sell outright was a ridiculous bid. It's going to be a slow campaign to get rid of them, little bit at a time.

Where was I moaning? I’m just pointing out the fact that SJR personally is the one buying the shares, not Ineos.

Things happen so quickly in football, lads. One day the Glazers announce they are exploring strategic alternatives and then just 13 short months later - as if out of nowhere - Jimothy Ratcliffe swoops in and snags a cool 25% of the club in a moment no one could have anticipated.

You think they’d allow to asses the clubs inner workings before purchasing the club? Heck allow him to look at the whole inner workings of the club and then pull out the deal.Surely to feck theyve been able to start assessing in some capacity long before today

When you buy a financial asset, like shares in a football club, that is called an investment.
Get in. Fecking get in. Irrespective of how it works, how long it takes, it's better than no shot at making things better under the Glazers which seemed the only real alternative. Happy Xmas all and may 2024 finally be the year we start to resurrect our club.

Fair comment. I do think it wouldn’t take too much effort to figure out what’s going wrong from the outside though!
People need to look at Chelsea as the ghost of Christmas future to see what can happen with a fast and total change of regime!

Who says it's going towards Old Trafford. I grant you this, $300m wont touch the surface at Old Trafford, however thats a pretty big amount of money when you look at renovating Carrington for first team, womens and juniors

Yes it's absolutely a good thing. If it hadn't come with sporting control then it would have been pointless.
There are no guarantees, but these guys coming in have experience running football operations and that's a million percent more than the Glazers will ever have

I wanted the qataris and I'm not ashamed to admit it. I'm not disappointed with this appointment but I'm not buzzing and don't share the optimism as some others do. I don't think it's necessarily more of the same as I once did, I think Ratcliffe wants to make a good go of it which is more than the glazers, but I don't know if he's the right man for the job. Still, the names linked with DOF and all the structure of the club are a good sign.
I really don't feel good about this. Nothing about it feels right. Just my gut.

I know. It’s always a risk however it happens.
I’m happy enough with this though, especially with the fact there’s clear investment and a clear removal of the Glazers from sporting operations (which is what we need).
They haven’t been bad in growing the company really so perhaps them finally recognising they don’t have a clue about football and letting go of control in that area is all we need to get things going again on pitch.
